| soldering station?
I'm looking for a decent soldering station. Nothing too fancy. I'm saying $0-60 is my limit. Anyone know where to find one in that price range?

TowerHobbies.com | TKPR0950 TrakPower TK-950 Soldering Station It is a re-badged hakko from what I've read. Some times Tower has coupons for $10 off $50 or more... Best $ I've spent in R/C...too bad I waited sooo long... | |

I have got a Hakko fx-888, best soldering iron I ever owned. You can get it from Amazon for an very affordable price. Amazon.com: Hakko Soldering Station, FX-888: Home Improvement I got mine from RPP and with a certain priced order, he has coupons for a percentage off. http://www.rpphobby.com/product_p/hakfx888rcp.htm |

That is a knock off of a Hakko, if you are going to go with a cheaper iron I would get something from Aoyue. They seem to be some of the better hakko knock offs: Amazon.com: Aoyue 937+ Digital Soldering Station: Home Improvement |

$50 uses the same size tips as the hakko and works great for me. I use it alot more than i thought i would. also I must say its very durable. i hate to admit how many times it has been knocked off the desk onto the floor HARD and its never given me a problem, heats up quick, doesnt drop temp when working, and has temp presets Soldering Station Do yourself a favor and pick up a thicker tip though I think i picked up the 2.4 chisel tip. also pick up a brass tip cleaner instead of the sponge ( looks like a brillo pad ) cleans the tip nicely |

if your patient and troll around ebay and message board BST threads, you cna get a hakko pretty cheap. my bro in law paid 55 for his used hakko 936. im happy with my weller 60w pencil. i also got a little pencil torch and a stand up mini torch, both have adapters to put on different solder tips if i need to solder out in the field |
