I know its cheap, cheesy, and not production. Just thought itd be a decent start to get some small machining done with a bit more accuracy. For the price seem like buying it wouldn't be bad. Anyone had this? One like it? HobbyKing R/C Hobby Store : Hobbyking 6 in 1 Machine Tool - Sanding/Turning/Sawing/Wood Turning/Drilling/Milling |

For $100 it might be worth trying. I would bet it would work ok with plastics, not sure about aluminum though. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2 |

Probably great if you want to do delrin and hardware store grade aluminum. Did I see it uses a brushed motor? |

Wow... I might have to have one of these. Not for big projects but my cordless drill "lathe" doesn't work to well lol.

They used to sell those at Harbor Freight. They are pretty shitty, I dont think precision would happen even with plastics, those dovetailed slots for changing up had a ton of play in them and the thing is really small.. No way in hell its doing aluminum.. I have had one in my hands and there no way I would try it for that amount of money.. |

Your Probally better off with a compound slide vise on a drill press over that . If your looking to spend some cash get a harbor fright one with the 20% off coupon I believe they come to like 425? Or a sherline mill a very nice alternative . To the post above about using a drill as a lathe look into a unimat lathe I have one very capable machine |

Graiglist is your friend, found a $300 14inch lathe with tools. Bought a new mill for $400 still in box. Found a full size Bridgeport mill for free, someone wanted it out of their garage, didn't have the space for it. If you're not in a hurry, and have some time to search there are good deals. I found even cheaper deals, after I bought my stuff. |
