Default Workshop update

Been doing some work on my workshop lately, added shelving, modified and extended my work bench, and made a stand for my vinyl plotter. Just waiting on my sherline mill to arrive and I'll finish up the back wall.

Oh just wait till the mill shows up

Looks really nice. You may want to seal up the wood on the tables if you haven't so in case you spill some oil it doesn't soak all into the wood. Now if my work areas were that clean...

If that's mdf, you're really going to want to seal it. I used boiled linseed oil on mine.

MDF will usually be ok as long as you don't damage it. Once you do it'll soak up moisture like a sponge and swell up in a hurry. Linseed oil is cheap and easy to apply, just be sure you've got lots of ventilation and no open flames while applying it...

Then I'd skip it unless you want to take your bench tops outside. Highly flammable, and the rags you use to apply it can spontaneously combust if you just toss them in the trash.

I look into laminated sheet. I did that for the top and backsplash of my work bench. It made for super easy clean up.

Yeah... I'll skip it then. The other part of the bench has been there for almost a decade. If I have issues now I'll figure something out

Home Depot or Lowes has those shower wall pieces - like a dry erase board finish so easy to clean up.

Woot! Mill came!

Got it setup and started on my back wall before I had to hop on a plane.

Hopefully will have some time to finish up this weekend and I can start messing with it. Once I recover from this I have my eye set on my next investment
