MIP tools are pretty darn good. I prefer standard tips.

Standard straight tips for sure! Ball tips are only for use when you can't access the screw straight on. But you also can't apply full torque to ball drivers or you risk stripping the screw heads. |

...I have and use both straight on access, max hand force = straight cut (hardened tip) drivers ^ straight cut tips cannot be angled whatsoever. angled access, light hand force = ball drivers ^ the ball drivers come in handy when a straight shot is not easily obtainable. generally... the majority of metric rc's only utilize 3 sizes (1.5, 2.0 and 2.5) So if purchasing a package of assorted drivers you won't be using, becomes a waste of money and storage space needed to accommodate. Get only the driver sizes you will need/use. btw... the crappy soft metal screws included in most kits round out easily when using ball or straight cut drivers So it's not always the fault of a worn ball driver. Upgrade the screws to the harder stainless steel... and they and the ball drivers won't round out as easily. Last edited by TacoCrawler; 12-19-2016 at 06:52 PM. |

Get both but learn when and where to use each. They both have their uses which is why they still sell both.
