Default UE SuperMaxx Diff Locker

Picked up some UE Supermaxx 6 spider gear diffs for the Super.

Some kind of theme going on here??

Thats right. BEEF.

Wondering if there are any type of spool or locker for these or if I have to build one. Looked on the bay and did not find ANYthing

Same as OFNA 1/8th scale buggy diffs.

What is your opinion on flooding the spider gears with solder to lock them?

Being 6 spiders, I'm sure there is plenty of teeth to catch with even just epoxy but I would think some hot lead would hold even better.

Waste of your money.

Should of locked it with JB and called it a day. Or buy the tmaxx spool.

I had the 8 spiders in a race maxx and only way to find replacement parts is to shop ebay.

UE = paper weight.

I have not received the diffs yet, they are not currently locked.

The maxx spool will need to be adapted to the ring gear though right?
No problem.

The bearings are a different size are they not????

Paper Weight??

Excuse me? Please explain.

From what I have heard these things rock!

A spool from a Force axle should work, Yotachump on here makes them out of durable material.

UE does not = paperweight, IMO it's the best stuff out there. All the parts are OFNA, and you can still get the gears, but why?

I've been abusing chumps spools for a good while now. VERY nice piece. Stripped a helical cut ring gear but the spool is still like new.

Thats who I was waiting to hear from!

So are the helical gears the four to one ratio ones? part #??

I know the UE comes with a 3.30 (??) gearset, are they stronger?

I'm going to order up them spools today, they appear to be very high quality. Thanks for the recommendation!

With a 4 to 1 gearset, I bet I could mount the 3032 direct on the tranny without gear reduction.

There is a 4.3:1 and a 3.3:1 helical set available. Kyosho makes them as well as a couple others. Check the Twin Force upgrade sticky in the Twin section. Should have all the info and part numbers you need.

The helicals are stronger than straight cut gears simply cause theres more tooth contact. You'll have to shim them up right,so get a few packs of shims.

Not real sure about that. I'd say you'll still need a pinion/spur reduction. The weight alone of your little piggy will be hard to get going. I'd bet the outrunner will need a bit of reduction to avoid cogging on start up. When my super was up around 14 pounds, the 3025-8 needed at least a 65:1 final to have decent performance. I could go a little lower, but cogging on start up became worse. Your rig will be a little heavier. Sure, the 3032 will have a bigger sack, but it'll still have a hard time starting up while pulling a porky rig.

If I were to guess, somewhere around 75:1 final would be a good place to start. You can then gear up or down a little to find the sweet spot.
