Some people in Germany do crazy things, like scale MAN 8x8 trucks. Ex: http://www.modell-truck-trial.de/modellbau.htm |

Any tips on how you did the diff cases? Im just curious as I may turn my emaxx into a 6x6 rather than sell it.

--> http://gallimods.com And no, donīt even think about making it by yourself unless you are owning a CNC-machine or having the access to such stuff... @deathspawn Nope, thatīs nothing to discuss about. I had rear wheel steering in my Flexx-Maxx and it was simply not stable enough. The forces were so high causing the servo to a short safety-mode... @crawlerguy Crazy people do crazy things... did you ever consider just strapping two e-maxx's rear ends together with one running in reverse? The front and rear wheels of the 8x8 would then handle the steering and you'd have 4 titans for power.

Great job on the T-Maxx! I love to see folks trying new ideas, fearless of circumventing the norm. I had an idea for your setup after I looked at it a bit. It seems your design may have a vunerable center between the two sets (of 4 front and rear) wheels. What if you put each set of 4 on thier own pivot point or pivoting bulkhead, independent from the main chasis? That way when you have your truck on a hill top, and only 2 of the set of 4 tires are touching the hill top, the separate bulkhead will pivot allowing the the entire set of 4 to drop and contact the inclined serface. Each end wouldn't have to pivot much, maybe 30 degrees in either direction (front or rearward). But this way you could keep the power to the ground and increase your approach angles front and rear. I mean this input to be constructive but not at all critisism; I can't wait to see what ideas you come up with next! |
