| snow tire suggestion
My summit has a 2200kv mamba monster 2 and I am wondering what recomendation you guys have for a snow tire. I have the stockers, trenchers, and losi claws. I was thinking maybe mashers and I dont think I want paddels. Thanks for any input/suggestions. |

Have you thought about making some tire chains? I have a prototype and the chain to finish I just haven't found the time. From what I've read they help. I know it really doesn't answer your questions but I thought I'd throw it out there. Sent from my iPhone using autocorrect |

Not really. I saw the ones djmedic has but the reason I was looking at mashers is cause they have a little paddle but still be good for hard packed and dirt. I may have to look into some chain designs though.

i have a set of Swamp Kongs on the stock set-up....it's the the fastest but those huge tires will float on the snow!!! I'm going to regear and go brushless soon...so that should help with the heat. (stock set-up gets quite hot...but it's a Titan so it's cheap to replace! JC |

I made some duals for the snow out of two old sets of tires. One set from a Revo and one set from an E-Maxx. Mashers work very well too. |

Thanks for the responses. I think I'll try the mashers.

That would probably work pretty good. The ones djmedic has have bedliner on them I believe. That wouldn't be to hard I imagine.

get the rc4wd tires. they raise the truck up higher. I am using trencher X tires and they go good, but heave and no floating. I went back to the stocks and it seems to go better in the snow, they are lighter and the wheel speed works good, with the 23 inches of snow we got last night.

If you want y'all, the rc4wd rock crushers are huge, I have them on mine, they are like 8+" y'all I believe. Don't know how well they would do in snow cause I have never used them in it, but if ground clearance is what your looking for they will do the trick

for rc4wd tires I have been looking at the Micky tires. they are not as aggressive as the mud slingers but look great. I think the close tread pattern would be suitable for what I need it for.

I think if I go with a real tall tire I'm gonna have to get some of the aluminum diff cups from Germany.

I run the Imex jumbo kongs in the winter. And it's like a freaking snowmobile. I can come to a stop in the deep snow and punch it and it will actually lift the front end off the ground. It's a blast to run these tires in the snow. NOTErized! Last edited by Tmaxxed; 02-26-2013 at 09:23 PM. |
