ECX Torment c-hubs might work. They're a lot smaller than Traxxas parts and some Traxxas parts fit on the Torment.

Back in the gap we made twin gearbox and motor 2wd to 4wd pede conversions.
We used nitro 4-tec parts for the front.
However they fit 2.0 rims with trimming they fit 1.9's

And I don't remember if they were direct fits

I've been after a solution as well. The Hot Racing "upgrade" caster blocks seem to be more compact, but I don't have a set to try. I found the cheap aluminum Atomik RC caster blocks on Amazon and ordered those as they seem to be compact like the Hot Racing versions.

The other alternative I really want to try when I have the cash is the C-hubs and spindles from the new Losi Rock Rey. You'd just have to change out the 6x12x4 bearings in the spindle for a set of 5x12x4 bearings to fit the smaller diameter front Traxxas axles. Don't know if it would help, but based on Harley's YouTube video, it looks like the Losi setup has a much easier time clearing wheels.

Modified stampede arm, Tamiya parts and an unknown dog bone. Might be an old HPI MT..... Worked good for my driving style, but not going to hold up to heavy abuse. Fits 1.9's and 2.2's.

OSRC - you are the mad scientist of RC builds and have inspired many of my wacky creations! So, I'm not surprised you used Tamiya parts for your build. Do you remember what output cups you used on the Traxxas diff?

Based on my experience with Tamiya parts, I think the C-hubs and steering blocks would hold up fairly well. It's the dogbone I'd be worried about, but I think I have all of the parts required on-hand, so I think I'm going to try it.
