They most certainly are out. First deliveries went out last week to places close to the warehouse.

yeah, ~3:1 down to a 7:1, so you'd be running low-wind motors to try and compensate

To swap them into an Axial, you need to change to a 48t spur and 19t pinion. Or 45t pinion/18t pinion.

"You Americans"?

It's been about a week since the other dude uploaded the videos. A week is a long time in terms of released to the public vs not released.

From looking at the portals and wheels on the TRX4 I'm thinking that a wheel with a rear bead lock ring might not fit unless it's a 2.2. IMO

On one of the Facebook trx4 pages, a guy is running VP KMC Enduros with .185 hubs up front and .225 hubs out back. Gave him a track width of 9 5/16 with R35 BFG KX's.

Probably. I'd like some scale crawler SCT style tires (1.9" outside bead) with more inset beadlock wheels.

I'm expecting instant dislike, but with proper foams they would sidehill like glue, allow narrower track without narrower axles, more room for steering links etc., for this truck and all others!

Also not legal in any SORRCA comp. There's plenty of existing 1.9 wheels with a decent offset that will fit into a portal.

Understood, but not everyone comps or comps with sorrca rules, worldwide (heck even in the USA only) most do not. Would be great way to narrow it up a bit and reduce steering scrub radius.

RC4WD, SSD, HR 1.9 steel beadlock wheels probably about the most backside room with dual bead size or 2.2. Hmmm small 2.2tires and steel beadlocks might fit well.

A second set of tires and wheels will keep it comp legal.

Pretty nice videos. The tires definitely seem to hold the truck back in certain scenarios.

Your videos show the huge body gets hung up a lot as we expected. This isn't necessarily a drawback, but it's an additional challenge just like the big K5 Blazer body on my Ascender.

Your video also shows that even with portals you still have to pick good lines or you'll get hung up. I'm happy about that. I don't want a truck that's too easy to drive which would be the case if it crawled over everything.

I'll throw a nay in here. We already have too many tire sizes with 1.55, 1.7, 1.9 and 2.2. The SCT style would only make things worse.

I'd estimate that about 90 to 95% of crawlers don't care about competitions more than maybe trying them once. Even less care about SORRCA as most clubs have their own rules. Then you add in the fact that this is a Traxxas RTR which means it's going to be the first crawler for lots of buyers most of whom will never enter a competition. Considering all of this I think the amount of people that care about comp legal parts for this truck is a miniscule sized group.

Are portals even legal under SORRCA?
