I takes a ton of force to break a circle pushing in, but surprisingly little from the inside. The reason why birds can exit an egg.

I wouldnt take it as a commentary of the quality of the gear, well other then its the wrong size.

Dodge manufactured portal axles with large C hubs to accommodate the portal assembly for a very limited number of trucks, Jeep Wrangler JR's, and for aftermarket use. They worked awesome off road, but the large separation of the kingpins (or ball joints) in comparison to the center line of the wheel caused the steering to lose stability above 45mph. I'll try to find the link from one of the off road magazines that reviewed them.

negative caster is the top ball joint angled or leaning forward compared to the bottom ball joint...if looking down on top of the knuckle, negative caster is forward and negative camber is leaning in towards the center line of the vehicle...

Most pictures on the Internet are of the driver side explaining POS-Neg Caster. Throw in the pic of the passenger side and all H breaks loose. Did for me. Researching after hours makes me have to read it twice most of time.

Blazer and especially the color combo look BA. Nice work and attention to detail. Wish they made a square body truck or a decent looking 67-72 Chevy SB.

Thanks for clarifying that. I must be thinking of camber, like mixing up series and parallel circuits.

True, any body can be a keyboard commando.
My wife picked out the color combo for this, since most of my toy turcks are flat black, faded, or weathered.

Physics at work, my friend. You would think a hardened gear would hold up better, but I know the hardening process tends to make them brittle.

Yes physics at work. It looked sintered to me, which is also no surprise that outward force broke it.

Hardening makes everything brittle, which is a concept people just can not seem to grasp.
