I'm pretty stoked that I may finally have a friend joining me in crawling - he is getting the new Bronco TRX-4. What battery recommendations do people have for use in the smaller FRONT transverse location that is specific to the Bronco and the kit version of the TRX-4? Hopefully ones with a fairly high mAh capacity? Any tips would be appreciated, he will be likely picking up the vehicle in the next week or so. Last edited by durok; 05-06-2018 at 12:53 AM. I just run traxxas my self. I have not had problems. I think its just the the easy to side of it a lot of first timers will like. I just got a deadbolt 2 so I had to buy a charger and went with a gen ace battery. Curious how it will compare to the traxxas ones I have.

Appreciated, but I'm experienced with LiPo's, and we aren't going to spend the money on Traxxas. This is a specific request for a specific size LiPo, not for use in the long center location. We want to use the front location in-between the wheels, just behind the bumper. Thanks for the input. Example - Traxxas states that LiPos for their 1/16th vehicles will fit - so I used measurements from one of the Traxxas packs (88mm x 20mm x 35mm), and found this on the HobbyKing LiPo-Finder: https://hobbyking.com/en_us/turnigy-...ery-xt-60.html I'd like to find something with a little more capacity that is still a quality battery - with a decent C rating... if you put a piece of foam to use as a spacer under the battery to lift it off the plate, there is a notched cutout on the fenders and a 2200mAh fits.

From playing around with The Turnigy 2.2, it will almost fit but not quite. You can stand it up but it might be difficult to keep it secure/ stable mounting it that way. Laying it down like normal will only work if you trim out a little bit from one of the notched fender cutouts. Even lifted off the plate by at least 12.16 mm ( in order to fit the battery into the notched cutouts) you'd still need to remove a bit of the fender due to the wires. It's doable but not without some trimming. At least from my findings, you'd have to mount it a minimum of 23.06 mm above the plate in order to put this particular battery up front with no trimming. Battery width is perfect but length due to the battery/ balance leads will mean either trimming or mounting it above the fender cutouts. |
