Default Strange receiver and ESC behavior

Ok folks. Need some help. Something weird started happening to my TRX-4. When I plug in the battery the receiver box turns on even if the ESC is off (not sure if this is normal, never noticed before) and the steering servo starts getting a signal (you can hear it humming), again the ESC is off. I turn the ESC on and it seems ok, car moves and steers in all directions, but I noticed when I steer left or right there's a lot of signal bleed (or something of the sort) that makes the diff lock mini servos jiggle constantly. I turn the ESC off and the transmitter off and the receiver stays on and the steering servo keeps humming until I unplug the battery. Thoughts? All parts are stock. Thanks in advance!

Ok, I'd bet the ESC is on its way out.
Sounds like the BEC is giving power when it shouldn't.

Thanks! I should be able to upgrade the ESC only correct? Any recommendations? I don't do much competition or anything of the sort. Just drive around for fun.

Yeah you can change the ESC. A good upgrade is the Hobbywing 1080. Usually about $40 most places.
