Default Sport battery size and placement question?

What is the best size 3s battery for the sport , and where is the best place to put it? I want to run smaller batteries somewhere in the neighborhood of 1500 to 2200mAh if possible . I have the inner Fender kit with the small battery tray up front for the sport. Thanks.

I run with both 2S and 3S packs up front in my TRX-4 Sport. My favourite battery is the Gen Ace 3S 3600mAh LiHV shorty as it is only 89mm long and fits nicely in the tray between the fenders.

This is the one I use the most (sorry its a UK link but you'll find it in the US I Am sure). https://wheelspinmodels.co.uk/i/317596/

One word of warning, I run a HobbyWing ECS in my sport and the Traxxas XL5-HV in my other TRX. The XL5-HV works okay if you charge the battery to Lipo levels but errors as over voltage if you charge it to HV voltages. The HobbyWing 1080 doesn't care and runs fine on the HV voltage.

I mount 2200 packs right on the slider tray of my 2 TRX's. Just opened up the slider a bit with an x-acto so I could put a velcro strip in. Works out great.

They now have a 4300 that's about the exact same size as the 3600 - when you feel the need for a new batt.

I'm running a Brazin Scale "All Time Low" chassis with TRX4 axles the and the battery is up front on the nose.

I run a 3s 1300mah nano pack up front, works good.
