What I’ve accomplished so far... finished the axles. They went together super smooth - like buttah on hot toast!

Say can anyone recommend someone who builds custom bumpers?

Are you changing bodies? Also the bumper mounting locations match most popular platforms so its easy to find alternatives.

I spent big money on Wertymade front and rear bumpers for my Origin. They look nice and are very beefy, but in the end I ended up taking them off and using the stock PRO plastic bumpers. Like Brandon said, the plastic slides better over rocks and they fit the body perfectly! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Thanks for the input! Well I was looking forward to a build night of bag D! But on step two of the assembly I hit a snafu. Two of the pieces do not fit quite right. The plastic piece (pictured below) warped when I attempted to attach it to the aluminum piece. Anywho I’ve sent a contact to Vanquish to help resolve this... Maybe I’ll assemble the links! |

Congrats on the kit! The spur looks fine. What do you mean you warped it? |

Thanks Jato! When I tightened down the 3 screws the spur warped... I'll give it another whirl tomorrow and take a snap of it. Cheers, Doc |

I'm mainly going for looks with a front bumper. When I built my Wraith (back in '13) I bought a custom front bumper and it really upped the look IMO. cheers, Doc

Ok. Here is a pic of my Wertymade front & rear bumper to give you an idea of what they will look like. I had trimmed the front of my body to use the Ripper front bumper before I bought the Wertymade. So the stock VS4-10 body will fit right in behind the bumper. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I was building mine out today as well and noticed my spur gear wobbles also. I’ll be curious to hear what Vanquish has to say about it.

BTW - I agree with what the others are saying about bumpers. You want plastic bumpers so they slide on the rocks. The plastic also flexes a bit when hitting something instead of stopping you dead.

Mine appears to be out of round, so what I gathered was that is fine as long as it isn't binding in the pinion and the mesh is ok all around, then it's normal. I went ahead and bolted everything together regardless, it's easy enough to change it out and I'll see if it's noticeable while driving. There is a bit of movement if you loosen up those three bolts attaching it to the slipper eliminator, so I centered it as best as I could and it seems to rotate fine. Been a while since I built anything RC |

Hey all, The spur is not seating against the aluminum piece. It's just not flush. Vanquish has suggested I use different holes and see if that solves the problem. As others have commented, perhaps it is meant to be this way... Thanks again for everyone's input. cheers, Todd |

EDIT: I did what they recommended, I removed the spur gear and moved the mounting holes, which seemed to straight it out somehow. It's flat and spins relatively even now. Last edited by Shinook; 04-08-2020 at 04:22 PM.

Well the fix worked!!! I moved the 3 screws to the location VP instructed and voila! So my tranny is done. Except for mounting the motor. I need to shorten the wires on it significantly as it was mounted in my wraith. Here are some snaps... |
