Default Ascender Servo Mount Pics/Info Request

Guys, I'm building a rig using Ascender axles. I am trying to get the steering geometry correct and I end up with massive bump steer.

I need to know about how high the stock Ascender servo horn is above the axle. Also about how far behind the axle the servo shaft is in a top-view sort of way (or bottom view).

Any info would be great!

I don't have the info handy at the moment, but CMS with the servo horn swinging that way is no good, turn the servo mount like Vaterra stock.

Yeah, that is my intent. I will have to fablicate stuff. I can eyeball it but am just looking for the stock dimensions as a reference.

This axle would be excellent with a servo on axle mount.

Good. I like mine on Ascender frame with the stock CMS, but it would be nice to have servo on axle mounting plate as option especially when using with other chassis such as the G-Made Sawback that looks like what you're using.

Hello, SSD?

EDIT: Anybody else have dimensions handy?

I can check dimension later for you, but I have pics of my front axle with steering in my Ascender thread posts # 156 and 184:
Natedog's Vaterra ASCENDER

The panhard is located approximately halfway between servo output shaft and the end of servo horn (draglink mount hole) slightly closer to the servo output shaft. HTH

That does help. Thank you sir!

Yes, I am putting these on the Gmade GS01 chassis, but its the Komodo truck, not the Sawback.

4 link and chassis mount servo will pretty much always have bump steer. That's why you want a panhard bar, as it controls the movement of the axle in a similar arc the steering link moves. And yeah, the servo horn should be horizontal not vertical.

That's good input. I hate to admit that I did not know that. I thought panhard just controlled the lateral movement of the axle, like the v shape of the top links does.

Good catch, I should have looked closer at his link setup and yes it will!
