Default The Ascender

The fenders follow the top line of the frame of the stock slider position. You might have to trim the fender just a small amount to have the clearance but i couldn't say for sure without having a set in my hands.

Thanks, I'm conducting a freeze test to make sure they won't shatter in the cold. Then I have a few more stress tests to make sure they are solid, then I think they'll be good to go.

Compaired to the bodies that fit an scx 10 these are about 10-15mm too wide. I haven't checked all of the but it would have to be close. These run 70mm wide from the frame to the body wall at the widest and about 60-65mm wide at the narrow point.

Along with the inner fenders, there is now tail lights and floor pans. All these parts are available thru the RC Addict store.

Awesome review. Loved the video. Thanks for posting that. The innder fenders look incredible.

For somebody looking to get into scalers and crawling and no plans on competing, just bashing, would you recommend the Ascender over an Axial?

If your only intent it to bash, i would go with the Axial since spare parts and accessories are more readily available. Once the ascender has been out for a bit and someone makes hardened gears for the ring and pinion in the dif, i would move to the ascender. I don't think the ascender axle will handle the abuse of bashing as well as the axial does.

Don't get me wrong, the ascender is by no means fragile. But i wouldn't bash it like something with an axial axle with dog bones.

Sorry. "Bashing" might not be the right word. Just driving it around for fun. Thanks for the quick reply, though.

Honestly i love my ascender more than the axial for fun wheeling, scaling and comping. I run a 45t motor with a 4cell lipo and haven't broken anything yet. But i tend to baby my trucks but i like the power to be available when i need it. I just know others had an issues with the first run of ascender kits. Perhaps a fluke.

So here's the update on the Ascender... I've made some floor boards and tail lights to help round the scale look. Here's some photos and a short video.

The next thing I'm working on is the rear floor pan with rear body mount incorporated. This way we can ditch that rear tall body brace.

Yes they do! I love my Ascender way more than any of my Axials and I'm not easy on it, mine came with HD pinions and driveshafts, running on 2s and 3s zero problems so far, except need to crawl more lol.

Loving mine too, SCX sits on bench still broken and Wraith is not broken but it just sits...big wide axles (training wheels) are just boring.
