Over 65 degrees of steering.

The set up on my K10.

Ascender axles on my Northwest Express jeep build.

It is a nice upgrade.

Wraith knuckles. Beef tubes? Ar44 universals. Ascender chubs. Anything else needed? Does it matter what brand chub? Ssd?

Hey durfee, this axle is the Codyboy brass weighted ascender axle. SSD SCX10ii chubs and knuckles, modified ar44 universals, and SSD brass brake weights. I like the SSD knuckles because their weight fits so nice, but I suppose you could use any after market chubs and knuckles for the SCX10ii.

Ok, another boring post in this thread, but I need to antagonize some of you a little more.
This for a set of slider/link risers for Rag6's blazer, so a little different than the earlier sliders. Rich thought the Gullwing sliders wouldn't work for his set up so these are flat and even with the chassis.
I have several of these layout/cutting mats, and use them to as my build drawings. This way I don't have to recreate the wheel if I plan on building more sets.
I started building the outer parts of the sliders first out of 1/4" SS tubing.

Next is the two pieces that will tie the outer tubing to the Link riser. I tapped these with a 10-24 tap so they can be attached to the screws in the link mounts.

Time to do some soldering.

Kind of simple design, but I think they will work good. To keep them sliding I like to use the rounded design out at the edge of the bodies.

Need to be cleaned them up a little and paint the link mount.
Hope they will work for you Rag6!

Do you have room under your floor pan for the gullwing, or do you want some flat ones?

The body touches the stock sliders right now, so I'm thinking flat, but I can always raise the body too. Surprise me lol.

Yes he is! I cant wait to get a set of these bolted on. Been running the stockers forever cause I knew Ernie would come through with some sweet sliders. I'm pretty sure I've got a set sold to a buddy that just ordered his first Ascender today. He's been crawling since the beginning and is Mr. Axial, but he made the mistake of running the little Bronco Sunday and that's all it took. I love these things!!!

I'm pretty sure you probably do have a set sold. I've been reading all the cool stuff the Ascender crowd is doing. I won't get my kit till nex week. But I'm sure I won't be running it stock very long.

Ok Jon, I'm going to spoil your surprise, here is a few pics of your sliders. These are the bronco flats with the link risers.
Jon is going to test these and let me know how the fit the bronco body!

And welcome to the dark side luckster!!! And I see your not to picky about who you hang out with. All kidding aside, Jon is a great asset to this hobby!!!!

Oh, man! I can not wait to get these bolted on!
Welcome to the Ascender section, Lucky! You'll love it here! Plus now that you are going finally own a decent crawler life will be so much brighter
Ernie, I'll be getting with you very soon on one of your full meal deal front axles. Would have already, but while cruising eBay I accidently bought a hard body that suddenly got me involved in another build I was not expecting to be involved in. I'm bad about spur of the moment builds Oh, and once Lucky sees the steering on your axle he'll buy one too

I have been getting some questions about what up grades I do to the ascender axles, so I thought I would post some photos of different options.

Front brass weighted axle.

Rear axle.

Codyboy steering with scale legal weights.

Codyboy steering with brake weight brass. As of this year this type of knuckle weight has been ruled not legal for sanctioned scale competition. But perfectly legal to have fun with!

With this set up you can achieve close to 65 degrees of steering.

We can also build these axles without the added weights.

I bought the codyboy scx10 ii set up. Was wondering what bearings you are running in your brass tube for the universal?

Hey Rich, basically I just bolted the stock battery mount to the front shock towers.

Hey guys, been trying to come up with some good and simple design for some rock slider/rear link risers. Have had a few hiccups but did build some yesterday

I finally had to put together the different frame length so I could get good measurements for mounting holes and position of the link riser and slider, and not to mention slider width. Talk about racking a old mans brain!!!

Thanks for looking.
Ernie
