| tedo's / mg200 twin hammers !!! Post 13 for start of new build !!! Picked one of these up. It's pretty fun. Have about 4 packs through it and my shift servo is working great still. Although I did fully rebuild and grease the bone-dry gears. And of course adjust the end points. Currently running a MMP with Tekin Redline 13.5 with stock pinion. Soo smooth! I packed some Phil Wood bike bearing grease in the front diff instead of a locker. It's 100 times better then the standard open diff which totally sucks for crawling. Also added an EXO rear light bar with my new roof. Mild, mild trimming needs to happen, but nothing major. As you can see, with a longer roof, you can hide half the battery. Need to figure out how o hide the other half. Last edited by tedo; 03-23-2013 at 11:48 AM. |

| re: tedo's / mg200 twin hammers It's really not difficult at all. I can't wait to see what Clay is going to produce. Mine is pretty crude compared to someone with skills.

I did 2 x 2200 packs today, and the more drive time with this rig, I decided a front locker is what I want. I think if the front diff was permanently locked, this could be a pretty capable 1.9, with strategically placed tires. Also, I would get high centered a bunch on tiny obstacles, so I ordered some Treps. I think the slightly taller tire will also help with obstacles. Overall, it's a totally different driving experience then my 2.2 buggy. Which is a good thing. |

Added some new shoes. Treps mounted on UTE's. I love these wheels. They are Delrin with aluminum hexes, so they are light and strong. I have a pair of 2.2 ezlocs that are made similar, and love them. Gearhead makes some pretty simple beadlocks. I haven't got a chance to run the new shoes yet, due to the terrible weather we are having. They are a bit taller (which is okay, will help with getting high-centered), and alot softer... which might be bad for speed. I may have to stuff them with some firm CI's. I am going to run them first and see. |

yup. these tires are the shit. Went home on my lunch break to try them out. Holy awesome. The extra height rolled right over the terrain, and these tires have awesome traction! |

If you have time, can you take a few comparison shots of the new vs stock tires. And if you get the CI firm foams please post up how they perform! -Thanks! |

They definitely are not much heavier. And I love the delrin with the aluminum hexes. If anything the little bit of the added weight helped keeping it planted on the rocks. | |

Well got my shipment from Trenton a couple days ago. Trenton's build: MG200Designs - Twin Hammers Ultra 4 KOH buggy full chassis First thing I did was put 100mm kings on the back. Sit perfect. Added 50wt in all 4 corners. Seems to cycle great. Also moved the battery tray under the hood. I drilled a few holes and attached the tray to the existing shock brace. I found it to be a clever way to reuse old parts. Then took her out for a shakedown... Holy smokes, it handles so good. I bought some rear sways, which I yet to install, and honestly I am not sure if I need them. She never flipped once! She cornered amazing. Even at full throttle. The upright shocks, mixed with some weight up front, really seems to handle great. Another thing I am selling my MMP and 13.5 combo in favor of a HH and 13t hammers combo. I just don't see the need in ballistic speed with such an amazing chassis. I don't want to break it. I have heard some favorable reviews with that new HH /13t combo on 3s. So that's what I am going to try. Plus, I do plan on getting this dirty and wet... Body panels today... Last edited by tedo; 03-23-2013 at 11:49 AM. |

Just for reference... I did put on a 23 tooth pinion and run the MMP/13.5 combo, so I did tame it down.. But I really do love the simplicity and size of the HH esc. And a simple smooth brushed motor. I am perfectly happy in the low 20 mph in a scaler...

You will love the HH and 13t. I have an extra motor just cause I know I will get it wet. 3s is a blast too. Love the chassis. Get some panels on it...lol |

Got some panels made. The roof is only placed for mock up. The lightbar fits perfect... Interior next. |

| Re: tedo's / mg200 twin hammers Thanks. I look forward to the new set up. I just felt the MMP / 13.5 was a little overkill. With the dog bones and output cups being the week spots, I can just see myself breaking parts. No shame going brushed on a scaler!
