if you guys want to get anywhere with this... i would suggest you email MIP and thank them for looking into your request and nicely remind them that there are lots of folks still looking for a solution.

if they are bombarded with emails they may take another look and possibly re-tool to make something that will fit... this is NOT cheap.

in other words: make it an issue of popularity.
Thanks for the info, gonna send a email to them once a week and see what it will do, if some of you do the same we might just get somewhere.. I would really love to see some front cvd...

I have been messing around with some parts. The ball end is Almost the same as the TH. Fits and rotates but has some contact inside the socket. A pin would need to be made to replace the stock outdrive, and connect the locker to the MIP end(in this case its a 4mm ball end). These driveshafts have a hex drive rather than splines.
At the very least this shows that they have parts available now that are very close to what we need.

Dude, I admire your ambition but have you read this thread? there are good reasons why MIP wont touch this thing and I kinda think they know what they are talking about. Now, something like Doc did with Associated arms and MIP parts, that's he best I remember seeing. I don't think it's that far back

Titaniums advantage is in weight. High quality steel is much stronger
It does look cool and does not corrode easy also I guess do there's that

hi
ok i love the twin hammers but the biggest Problem for me snaping out driveshafts
for me it is important that i have a big ground clerance and a good wheel travel up and down
so i testet many wheel axles
and came out by the tamiya 64mm swing shaft
tamiya nr 9804298 andtamiya nr 53499 in combination
and you Need 2x bearings 8x12mm and 2x 6x8mm bearings

so this is no Combo for basher i think they brock like the original ones but they don t snap out and this is for me the best choise

in this pic you see the ground clearance between normal and tamiya this Aluminium parts on the wheel are for my rc4wd tracks and not important

and this is pic is from the tamiya axle you can see it don t can snap out

Yeah, how did this end with pics of a TH custom fitted with MIP's then nothing?

How are the retrofitted MIP's holding up now that it's been nearly a year?

I've been snapping inner dogbone pins lately so I too would purchase some MIP front axles in a heartbeat.

I have beat on mine for a year now and it takes a lickin and keeps on tickin. I have done a few for friends and they all seem to be working fine. If you look at my thread, I also updated the front arms to B4.2 Buggy rear arms.

You can make some people happy and some cash at the same time if you started to put a kit together. Codyboy.

MIP X-Duty CVD™ Kit, Vaterra Halix, Rally-Cross #14185

I wonder if it can be modified to fit

The Halix OEM style are a simple telescoping unit

If someone picked up the halix shafts to see if they fit the twin hammers it would be a pretty cheap investment before going all in on the MIP parts. I don't use mine enough to justify testing it out but would consider buying the MIP parts if they work just to make mine bulletproof long term.

I have thought about it, but I dont think there would be enough interest to make it worth my while. I think the cost would be an issue with most people.
But thanks for the interest.

They are pretty long and the CVD portion of the axle is pretty large and i think it would interfere with the upper link mount. Ill post a pic when i get the chance.
