| Shock and Spring upgrades
I am ready to move my TH 's front shocks to a vertical position and upgrade the rears also. I see lots of people running the "King" shocks but beyond that, I'm not seeing a ton of options. I'm not interested in the scale aspect as much as performance and tunability - are there better options for me? I'm also a bit puzzled by the lack of spring rates available (unless I'm missing something) Any insight is appreciated |

Slash Powerstroke rears. Spring packs available for tuning and they fit and work great. I guess the fronts would depend on the mount you run. I run 80mm RC4WDs but will eventually put a pair of scaler powerstrokes on. Last edited by CREEPINKING; 05-24-2013 at 06:42 PM. |

How does the length compare with the stock ones? (rear)

I think the Powerstrokes are a mm or two shorter but very close.

Good info, thanks. In the front I'm either gonna get a BM mount (and mod it) or fab my own - either way they will be 80mm which is said to be ideal based on what I have read. The ProLine scalers are a bit tall - and PL Slash fronts even taller. Any ideas? |

Yeah the scaler PS are close to 90mm. I plan on switching to a BM mount as well and I have a feeling that I'll have dogbone issues with 90mm shocks. The 80mm's I run now have SCX spring cups and SCX soft springs (the longer ones). They feel perfect, and with using the SCX springs, you have tuning options. |

That's cool, any downside to the 80mm RC4WD's ?

They aren't all that great in stock form. They leak and are stiff as a board. If you swap out the o-rings to some of the red colored ones and put on some new springs they wake right up and are butter smooth with minimal leak. I love them but my ocd tells me that I need matching shocks all around. |

Lucky me, I have no such issues... (although it would be nice in a perfect world) Thanks for your help, I appreciate it! |

G made xd shocks are what I used for the front of mine. Check out my build thread for details. Crazy amount of pressure difference......I can't imagine any better

Looking on the G-Made site (lots of pretty pix fwiw) whats the consensus on the advantages on the three XD versions? The aeration version seems counter intuitive to me but I'm by no means an expert on dampers |

If Slash Powerstroke shocks fit the rear wouldn't that mean a pair of Slash GTR shocks would work also? Or are the PS shocks longer than stock length Slash shocks?

I would guess they would be within a mm or so of the PS (which is a few mm shorter than the originals on the TH) I'm seriously considering the Piggyback G Made's in 85 and 103mm |

I was confused, I think you are right. CREEPINKING recommended the Power Strokes for good reason, they are 118mm. (according to RC4WD) For some dumb reason I was thinking they were shorter. Soooo maybe PS rear and 85mm G Made's up front Last edited by photon_trap; 05-27-2013 at 02:13 PM. |

| Re: Shock and Spring upgrades I read the same thing, but I put calipers on my stockers and only got 108mm. I am thinking that going a little longer and making a bracket off the stock mount to adjust for the longer shock would be ideal

| I use the 110mm piggyback kings in the rear I can't imagine going any smaller. Need all the clearance you can manage sometimes. Only problem is the super soft spring. Any other brand make stiffer springs for these dual spring kings?
