You have to disable the Castle-Live-Link in the Advanced tab for the ET-3s ESC to calibrate. |

First time out. Don't hate on my iPhone video/upload. Put it on 720p though. Holmes Hobbies Motor and ESC worked great. Low end is good in first gear, plenty of pep in mid and top end in second. Very pleased with the setup. I still need to adjust the ESC settings and fine tune the shocks. Fronts seem a little stiff for crawling. Rig 7.25lbs as shown. ekk! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0KUnbyIgb74&sns=em Last edited by Szczerba; 01-26-2014 at 06:56 PM. |

Looks good. I don't think you are fully utilizing your storm shelter though. Pile up some more dirt around it and jump that ish... |

Looks good, but the suspension seems a little stiff. Is it going to be used for crawling mainly or mostly just general bashing around?

It will be a Terra-X, Ultra4, etc rig. Twin hammers are not that good at crawling due to the tub chassis design but it can do some light crawling. The shocks need tuning as well as some of the esc settings. I have to tear it all down to repaint the cage so I will adjust some things then. Last edited by Szczerba; 01-26-2014 at 10:25 AM.

Workin for me.. Rig looks pretty sweet Shane. After watching the video, I can't wait for my HH brushless motors and servo's to show up! Ill try and get some video of it setup on a wraith. I was also looking at the storm shelter... It would have some dirt in front of it at my house.. |

The storm shelter was installed back in 2009. There was alot of dirt piled on the outside, then it all sank down about 2010. I added more back and it sank again. I think it has finally settled but I am too lazy to add more dirt around it. Still trying to keep the grass growing around it!

I did some reading and most guys say the King shocks need heavier oil than most. Kings have 3 hole pistons. 100wt is a starting point for the rear as the LS1 motor weighs 6oz. Its good to have the weight back there to make the suspension work but the jury is still out until i get this on the trail or track. Silver internally sprung silver scaler shocks are another story. One of the pistons was ground down to a cone shape and the other was stock. Didnt work too well like that. So for now i took two plastic axial 3mm nuts and made new temporary pistons after some dremel action. I accidentally deleted the pictures of said pistons off my phone last night. I found the same thing with the King shocks...... Have to run a pretty heavy weight oil to get them to dampen correctly. Szczerba are you running any oil in the ultra scale shocks out back? I am running a dual shock setup like you and am trying to get it totally dialed. Right now I have 100wt in the piggyback kings with the 1.0/1.6 king springs and in the ultra shocks I am running 20 wt oil and no springs and it's working pretty good but want to see if there is a better setup. Thanks. I forget the rear spring rates right now, I can check later. They are a mix of King and SCX springs. This rig is 7.25lbs RTR. 100wt in all four rear shocks. I'll do some testing this week with it setup like this and tune from there. The silver shocks have the internal spring in them right now.

1.9 Crawler Innovations single stages fit the Rok Lox's nice. Just a touch wider than stock. 1.9 TSS Stockerz raw beadlocks with TSS scale hubs. Scale hardware and MThead delrin rings on the way. |
