Default Time Bomb's Fastback Hammer

I realized I hadn't put up a build thread, and finally got some pictures taken of the rig with the new skin and tires, so here goes nothing.

Twin Hammers V2.0
SSD Rims
Trepador tires
GCM Shock Tower
GMade XD Piggybacks
Front diff locked with RTV
Axial full size shift servo
HR rear arms

Irie's bellcrank setup should be here today, and installed this weekend when I go to the hobby store and pick up a stronger steering servo. The stock one just... just... it is suck. Suck incarnate.

Lol. I forgot to pick up a new servo horn anyways, so probably tonight if the Snap-On guy doesn't steal ALL OF MY MONEY JUST LIKE EVERY OTHER TIME THE TRUCK SHOWS UP (ugh...), I should have the parts to finish the bellcrank conversion.

Side note, before I took the truck all apart to swap the steering out, I had a chance to test my suspension over what was basically a giant high-speed whoop slalom lol. The rear worked pretty well but the front was bad. I noticed that I wasn't getting much articulation out of the front on the rocks, and on the whoops the front didn't hardly squat and just shot into the air. I'm changing my shock setup in the front and will report back on the results. I was using the 3-hole piston up front with 30 weight oil. Going to the 4 hole piston and 15 or 20 weight. Much better compression and rebound, and I sort of bled out a bit of extra shock oil. I think I had too much shock oil the first time I put them together, as it was under pressure with the adjuster backed all the way out. Now it's under slight pressure with the adjuster nearly all the way in, and as I back it out the shock gets softer. Hopefully this will help dial the front in a bit better. I wish GMade had a Super Super soft spring haha. Getting articulation in the front of a Twin Hammers is proving to be a pain in the fartbox.

Irie's bellcrank mounted and Hitec 5645MG is in. Much more steering torque and precision!

Now for the arduous task of setting toe and alignment with the new servo, horn, and linkages... I think I might have to trim the GCM plate in some areas to get it to do what I want it to. Very happy with the new shock settings as well. It compresses much easier. The IFS setup on the TH is much more solid and does not allow for the articulation like the rear 4-link does, so using the GMade front and rear shocks requires a fastly different setup between front and rear from my experience to soak up bumps and crawl properly. I have the 3-hole piston, 30-weight oil and as-delivered springs in the rear. Up front, a 4-hole piston, 15 weight oil, and the softest springs they allow. Minimum preload. Marked improvement on the rocks at my back-yard track. The improvement so far between the stock TH and how it sits now is pretty impressive to me. With the open diff and cantilever, it couldn't grab on the rocks and hated turning.

Irie's bellcrank and the new Hitec servo are working great. I'm actually a little disappointed in the torque of the 5645MG but the setup as a whole is much more precise, and has changed how my TH crawls and turns. It is far superior to the stock setup. The combination of a front-mounted battery, GCM bracket, GMade shocks, and Irie steering completely blows away the stock setup. Stable in corners, more articulation, much more adjustability, tighter turn radius, more accuracy both at speed and with vehicle placement on-trail. Well done to all of the manufacturers above...
