| my TH with upright front shocks
had the chance to work on mine this weekend... i put in the sr irie drilled axles and have an open diff in the rear now...i put in a thick grease to still aloow it to crawl, but allows the diff to unload still when it binds up real bad... anyway, i decided to eliminate the from cantilever shocks for upright mounts that allow more travel, but decided to get it done as cheaply as i could... so here's my TH with upright shocks using leftover parts i had in my parts bins...scx shock hoops, old shocks, and old threaded links... i had removed the ctock shocks and cants, and used a dremel to sand down a small part of the tube frame where the shock hoops would sit...i then used some spare links i had lying around and screws to "clamp" the shock hoopes to the tube frame, and added another one at the top of the shock hoops for ridgidity... handles much better now...still flips over, but not as often...i still need to do some suspension tweaks to get it to handle better...also, with the stock shocks gone, i can fit a small 2200 3s battery under the hood, which helps with handling...i probably wont use that area for a battery until i can figure out a way to change the battery quicker though... |

Like it. Are you able to upload photos without the bonnet installed? (I know it takes effort) but I want to do something similar before I just go MEH and buy gmade piggy back shocks for the cantilever suspension and call it a day. Sent from my SM-N910G using Tapatalk |

spunkybob, here's the pics...sorry for the delay...i still havent removed the mounts for the cantilever, but i wont really need to anyway...i am able to fit a 2200 3s in the front, crosswise where the firewall would be, or i could remove the cantilever mounts and mount it lengthwise as well...just another battery mounting option if any of you are interested. |

a lot of faith being held in that plastic cage to hold the shocks-not sure it was designed to take this much punishment directly
