I'm using a 13.5t brushless with a savox servo. I get as much speed as it can handle but others run 550 motors.

A rear sway bar is a must for speed.

If you want to crawl, just be sure your brushless system is sensored.

If you are buying the kit, the sway bars are included.

After going through multiple Savox 0231's I have been using a Savox 1210. Much more torque and all steel gears.

Just a couple ideas if you're going the mostly go fast route.

The GCM rear axle truss or similar solution would probable help keep the front end down under power.

SrIrie is selling drilled rear axle shafts to open the rear diff, ( Got modded open diff with a front diff rebuild kit, VTR232019) combined with 500K or 1M weight diff oil, front and rear, might be a good way to do both the go fast thing and the go slow crawling thing. Or a reasonable facsimile there of.

Easiest fix if you want to go fast with minimal consequence is to use smaller tyres/open up the diff. Otherwise it is likely you'll be barrel rolling everywhere.

Obviously this reduces top end significantly but the gearing is such that you could run a much lower turn motor to compensate.
The largest pinion I could find and purchase is a 35t, you can't use the spur cover though as it wont fit.

I have run a 5200 kv motor (2s only) with the 35t pinion and some slightly smaller tyres - 96mm. was way too fast for anything but speed runs imo (I aint no pro driver) but it was hilarious. (I say way too fast because I have a small area, it was only around 50-60km/h).
