| Extra weight gain using silicon
Today I filled my tires with silicon , a good dose in each then the foams , nearly a whole tube in all lol I'm not sure if this has been done before but it's lowered the centre of gravity quite a bit , and there still pretty soft , what's everyone's thoughts ???? Interesting, want to see pros and cons. Are you bashing, scale comp or U4RC? Sent from my SM-N900P using Tapatalk |

I'm doing a bit of bashing but more towards crawling no comps as I'm in the uk and no comps here as it's always raining lol , not sure what U4RC is ??? As soon as it's not raining I'll take it out for a test run , this is cwmcarn by me in Wales which is a downhill MTB course which has some really cool tracks and when it's not too busy i use it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I'm having trouble picturing what silicon you used that won't harden and solidify?

Silicon is rubber , the stuff you put round your bath or shower and is very stretchy and flexible and I'm not filling it entirely just enough to layer the foams with a good key inside the tire from some decent rough sanding pad 120 grit , the concept came to me after tearing off my tire off the rim and I thought it would prevent this from happening again , also found it added weight , win win situation ;) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I used steel beadlock rings to add low down weight, used alloy in the front to lighten the nose. My first thought was that you will struggle to get them balanced.

I'll chuck them on the scales individually and see what they weigh but I'm pretty sure they'll be pretty close to one another in weight . I'll do it now actually Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk | |

I was really referring to rotational balance given that it is a basher with relatively high wheel speed. Not that it will necessarily cause a problem. How much vibration do you get on bench testing?
