Default Clone hammer - wich one?

I'm thinking of buying a clone hammer as a side project. Need a truck to use the leftover parts from other projects.

From what I can tell theres different versions of the clonehammer. Wich do I get, and wich is the cheapest place to buy from?

If you want the proper 1:10 one you need the WLToys K949. The others are smaller 1:12 size instead.

The K949 is very cheap on ebay. No doubt the same on Amazon etc.

Best price on ebay now is $177 including shipping. I can get a real Vaterra twinhammers kit for $232 including shipping. Is that a better deal? I assume the kit version got a lot of upgrades over the clone?

Not really.
Are very similar.

I found this one
WLtoys 10428 - B 4WD 30km/h Rock Climbing RC Truck - RTR-146.98 Online Shopping| GearBest.com

Is the same chassis

I haven't seen any confirmation yet that it is the same chassis. It's also more top heavy looking so if you planned on racing it the twin hammers style would be better. Hobbyking was also selling them. They refered to them as an A333.
The kit version has no electrics but it has better shocks and steel gears. My rtr TH had plastic gears and plastic shocks. But I swapped out the gears for steel as they were cheap from my LHS.

The electronics has to be changed anyway at some point. The reciver and esc are one unit on the clone? Is the stock clone servo strong enough?

I assume the kit got steelgears, better tires and shocks. I think the kit also got a locker for the front axle?

I have a k949
After a year of use still have the original electronics, already buy the sensored brushless motor, the 120 amp ESC and servos, but the original ones still work.
I buy it in fleabay for 90 USD or something (very cheap)
Now I´m waiting for Sr. Irie to get the upgrades
Cheers

That is a valid point. Electrics are not great and are often swapped out. I think the kit also gets proline super swamper.

Yes, kit version of Twin Hammers has several nice upgrades including metal trans gears.

Kit Twin Hammers gets Vaterra Super Swampers, not Proline.
