I'm not sure I understand all of what you wrote there, but probably you want to know if you need anything else to switch power to a load from your remote control.

That part is all you need.

Plug it into a spare channel in your receiver.
Connect the controller to some power (keep it under about 20 volts).
Connect your lights to the output.
Operate that channel to turn the load on and off. That channel moving from -100% to +100 % will turn the light on and off.
Sorry about the confusion haha. Basically i use a servo board to turn my lights on and off with my third channel (2 position switch) because my third channel alone will not regulate on or off. So your external voltage setup will function on/ off of my third channel.

Trying to figure out the best way to mount my small 2400Mah 3s batt (30mm x 88mm) I use for lights to the bodies of both my Baja 5T and Losi 5IVE T...any thoughts? Need to be able and switch between the two rigs. Thanks SmittyBuilt

I like to use the velcro strips with the adhesive backing along with a velcro strap to hold my batteries in place.

Why do you not recommend a 9V battery?

A 9 volt battery has a very small amount of energy in it. Won't last long. Plus, it's a strange voltage. Most lighting wants either six or twelve volts to operate.

There is nothing stopping you if you still want to use one though.
