Dual Power Dual RC switch with Dim on External Powered Output

This is for use when you have a set of receiver powered lights that you want to turn on and off, and a higher voltage light (maybe a light bar that runs at 12 volts) that you also want to be able to control. As a bonus, you can set the brightness of the higher voltage light.

A three position channel is used to operate this light controller. Normally keep the channel in the center. Push one way to toggle the receiver powered light on and off. Push the other way to set the brightness of the external powered output.

The components that do the switching are able to pass more than 10 amps of current each if they were properly heat sinked. That really isn't practical for RC because you don't really need that kind of power for lighting and also you probably don't want to be driving around with a heavy heat sink! In reality, it is probably safe to run 3 to 5 amps on each output. Again, these power levels are not likely anything you would ever need.

I bought this from you already. But I currently have a dx3e but use the third channel for the transmission. I'm gonna buy a 4 channel pistol grip but am having trouble finding one that has 3p with a rocker switch, toggle, or an up and down function on the axillary channel to allow for the multifunction of this switch.

Any suggestions for pistol grip radios in the 200 dollar range?

I've been very happy with the GT3B and GT3C transmitters with the updated firmware. Can't comment on pistol grip radios in the $200 range though. You will probably get better info if you post this in the electronics section of the forum:

I was asking here in reference to this switch and its function with out a rocker or toggle switch. Will assigning two desperate buttons to a trim + and trim - setting on and auxiliary channel operate this dual circuit switch.

If you are talking about the trim + and - on a GT3B/C, then the answer is yes, it will work.

OK. Thank you. I think the lever on the airtronics mt4 will be perfect. Overkill RC does not have any of the gt3cs in stock and stated he doesn't know when he is going to be able to get more. So looking for an alternate radio setup.

I just bought this controller. It was awesome, but it is not working well anymore. The external powered output wont toggle between the brightness options and it wont turn off. It wil stay on until battery is disconnected. Please help!!! I was so happy with it...
