I am building a scale (ish) version of my Ram 2500 and these seem to be about the right size for the Power Wagon body. The foams seem a bit stiff. Anyone got any updates on how these perform or any input on foams? The smallest 1.9 foams that CI shows are 4.25. Maybe I could stretch some 1.55 lil novas over my wheels?

I'd give the stock foams a shot first, give them time to break in.

^That. I've run them with stock foams on rigs ranging from under 8 lbs to over 10 lbs and they've done great.

I'll give them a shot I guess. This rig is going to be pretty light. I had a bonehead moment and only ordered one pair so I had to place another order from RPP yesterday. Maybe I'll have it all together by the weekend.

Ok, I got a few hours runtime with these tires and stock foams and I have to say that I am impressed. The truck that I have them on is an SCX10 II with a Power Wagon body and no bumpers/scale stuff. The only added weight it has is Beef Patties up front. Obviously the smaller diameter made some things more challenging, but they hooked up well on the rock and I made it up almost everything I tried, sometimes easier than the big tired trucks.

I ASSume because the tread is so tightly packed that the foams don't need to have as much give as say Rock Beasts or TSL XLs do.

I cannot say how much I love these tires. I have stock foams also on a heavy truck and they do awesome. Even in mud they did better then expected.

I have made a couple more runs on mine and I love them. I heard they are coming out in a 2.2 version.

I would have liked to see these on a classical scx10 body, to see if they're way too small or not..

They are smaller than Ripsaws.

I don't own an scx or classic body, but these are only 4", so they are quite small compared to what would have came stock

I ended up going with this for my scx10 Hilux I'm working on. Look great. Too freaking cold to go and try them right now. Think they should do just fine though.

These ended up doing very well considering all the mud we were in. I was able to go most places my brothers stock SCX10 with Trepadors was able to. The only issue was ground clearance with such a small tire. I got hung up a lot in places he was able to go over. Seeing as how I don't want to do any trimming to fit a bigger tire these are a keeper. I may look to get something else for really muddy areas as these caked up quick and I didn't have enough wheel speed to kick the mud off.

So what is the word on these tires? Better when dry? Struggle a bit in mud? How about foam selection? I've got some 4.25" CI soft + med dual stage foam just sitting here.

They're great with stock foams. I've yet to find conditions where they don't work well (wet, dry, loose, packed, slick, rough, etc) with stock foams on multiple rigs, so I've happily kept them stock.

I have been running mine for a week now, and have been happy with the stock foams. I have no plans on changing them. Only time will tell, but it is encouraging that you have some time on them without changing them.

Can't wait to run them at blue rocks this July

Between the two rigs I've put these on, I have at least 20 hours on this set, I love them. My brother has them on his D90 as well. I'm running stock foams on fairly heavy rigs and they grip for days and get better as the foams break-in. I've been truly surprised by the traction from these AT tires, wet, dry, muddy they just keep going.

The Ford will be getting 1.55 Rock Beasts as soon as they're available, mostly because the look suits the truck more.
