I am still waiting for mine but no matter how long I look at these pictures I cannot understand why that freaking trans is so huge.

Glad to hear it performed well

Here's a few pics from this weekend. The first one Diesel took at the Sin City comp. The others are from a new spot we checked out at Gooseberry Mesa in Southern Utah

I didn't drive it but my friend that did took 10th in his first comp ever with driving it for about 5 minutes total before. It does very, very well.

To me the skid is more of an issue than the tranny. The front tip hangs up on stuff a lot because it hangs below the links so much.

That's the only real issue I can come up with. Besides that everything else works very well and seems well enough made for the price.

The trans is a stressed member of the chassis. It supports the lower links and ties the TVP's and the battery tray together and provides an ESC mount/location. The chassis is very rigid to transfer twisting load to the suspension and allow the suspension to do its job smoothly. The gears are larger than those found in other trans and they can take more load and stress than you would probably ever put the Creeper through. The trans case gives us the flexability to do whatever we need. The new Dig Kit is integrated into the trans case and makes it very easy to install and use. The Creeper trans is just a different approach to giving this chassis a low center of gravity and forward bias CG while providing a centered driveline and all the above considerations. Its pretty much the heart of the Creeper concept.

Like I said, the trans really isn't my issue, its the point that comes down over 1/4" under the lower links and gets hung up at times. I have some ideas how to fix that but its not an easy fix because of the way things are made. It wasn't hanging up everywhere but I did see it get hung up at the comp a couple of times.

As far as the tranny goes, if the dig unit fits inside the transmission than it isn't really big at all.

Well it got a stress test today. My son (who is 5) drove it at a comp where it was nothing but broken up rocks. He bound it up like mad and no problems whatsoever

Wow, thats good to hear. The only things I had heard about durability previously had been the people with over heat treated parts. Good to see the right ones will hold up. Still waiting to get my tracking number on mine though.

I think if these were bad he would have broken them.

The best thing about this rig is the steering. Everyone who sees it is blown away by it. I'd bet its 15 degrees more than my berg.

Steering has been the weak point of every rig I have owned so far.

Not going to be the problem on this one. Prepare to run a longer servo horn than you usually do.

Very cool, looking forward to it.

What is the width of that colosal transmission?

Got mine put together and did the first test run. I agree with everything Zach has said.

The steering is amazing!!! I bound it up pretty good several times with no problems, it seems like it's going to be a tough truck. Only down sides are the axle skids hang up a little (no huge problem), and the way the trans hangs down below the links in the center. That keep hanging me up alot, but I was driving in my rock garden that has alot of places they you normally drag the skid plate on all my trucks.

I also realized how spoiled I have gotten driving bad built rigs. It takes alot to impress me now.... Overall the truck has meet my expectations and I believe it has alot of potential.

Venon definietly did a good job on their first try making a crawler!
