Default breaking link ends

I keep breaking the passenger side rear lower plastic link end that connects to the axle. Is anybody else having this problem, or do I maybe have underlying cause? I am running the box stock setup also. It is not just when I get it bound up either, it seems to just happen whenever. Also, is there a good fix, or new rod end that wont change the articulation characteristics. I broke two last night at StLCrawl in about 3-4 hours. Thanks

I use the strait ends for the steering. They hold up better then the bent ones on the lower front links.

Could be because your screwing the threaded stud in to deep into the link and weakening it. If you did it twice to the same side thats not normal and the parts do hold up under normal use. Screw it in 10mm and the rest into the aluminum rod end.
FYI we have strengthened those up, coming soon.

ive broke one of the bent front links just coming down a steep incline , must have been to fast.

hoping the new ones are a less brittle and softer plastic or metal (even better) but something is going to give if you are taking big drops right?

Chris : Is there a area where the upcoming releases for the creeper are listed? You seem to know about lots of exciting things on the way.

I used my digital calipers on the first one I built, the second was a quick fix at the track so I didnt measure. It is breaking right at the end of the screw. Thats probably exactly whats happening. I just hadn't read anybody else having this problem, so I asked. Thanks.

Chris, do you know when we can order the new ends or have a part number to backorder?

I broke my rear driver side today, but it fell about 7' so it was my fault. I just used straight ones off of hpi shocks and changed both rears out. It works good and not binding what so ever.

I went the cheap rout though, Traxxus rod ends work just as good with a 6mm long spacer. True there not bent but they don't bind.

Why switch to metal rod ends? Seems to me that the mount on the axle, which is still plastic, would now be the weak link. I would rather have to replace the rod end than the axle housing.

I doubt that the axle mount will break, it's double shear unlike the rod end

Metal rod ends are junk. Venom just needs to tweak their plastic compound a bit.

Until then, Traxxas ends FTW.

Thanks for the find on the metal rod ends! I'll give them a try. I cant imagine breaking the axle mount, when they break, I'm not binding it up, dropping off anything, climbing anything, they just break in half right at the end of where the screw goes in, so I think it is more a plastic compound issue, not a force issue. If I break the axle mount I'll be sure to post, so I get some of those "told you so" commnets. Thanks.

Nah, no "told you so" comments, just "thanks for being a guinea pig" comments

Let us know how long it takes for the slop in the metal rod ends to develop.
