Default just got a new creeper

So i just got a new creeper, a venom 550 motor, a vrt3 fm radio, and a chepy redcat esc but it should do the job. Iooked at the instruction book last night and its seems easy to follow. I havent even cracked the plastic on the parts yet. Is there anything i should know BEFORE i start building? I noticed alot of after build mods and stuff, but i was just wondering if anyone had one of those "wish i knew that before i built it" moments?

Install the motor and set your pinion mesh before you build the rest of the truck. The instructions tell you to install it after everything is built, and that's a bit of a pain.

Pay attention to your CVD's (I believe Venom calls them VCD's). My pin was binding on one side, so I cleaned it up before going any further. Get a set of Paradox pin locks too (I think that's what they are called) from RockyMountainDesignWorks. The pins sliding out can cause all kinds of problems.

Read RMDW's Tips thread before starting.

Good luck and welcome to RCC

take your time, and be careful with the shock caps...

Get a nice set of hex drivers. I put mine together with crappy tools, and it took way longer than it should have.
