get the safari kit. I think it has more options for body mounting. other than that, I think its the same base as the regular creeper. just an assumption on my part, as I havent seen the two side by side personally but I am positive there are many here that could confirm if I am correct

The safari is basically a creeper with some plastic frame rails and bumpers bolted to the side plates with upright body mounts, and it comes with a dig unit installed.

Dont get the Safari. Get the kit version and buy yourself an SCX10 chassis and AX10 tranny. More scale than the safari will ever be

i agree, the safari is a good crawler but it is just the kit version with some frame rails. get the kit and do what you want from there. will be much easier.

If you want dig and the frame rails it will be cheaper to get the safari. Creeper kit. $150 Dig unit. $50 Motor. $20 Frame kit. $55 Total. $275 That's not including a radio or servos or esc. A safari can be had for under $250. I know the esc and steering servo isn't that great and the radio is just ok, but it will be fine to get it up and running. |

Even if you replace the electronics, if you want dig, the safari is still cheaper. I also agree that it really isn't a scale crawler. But not everyone wants a perfect scale crawler.

NO. Even if you through all the electronics away and you WANT dig it's still cheaper to buy a safari. It's math.

Venom creeper kit-$130 Venom remote dig-$57 Total $187 Safari RTR $280-$187=$93 extra bucks to spend on electronics or whatever else Or...Figure too about $40 bucks for a used SCX10 chassis and about $25 for a used AX10 tranny leaving and additional savings of $57 bucks cause you dont need the venom dig. Heck ive bought a ax10 tranny AND dig unit for under $50 Trust me. your much better off with a kit. No need for me to say anymore Last edited by gottorque; 08-26-2012 at 12:01 AM. |

Ppl. Have extra dig trannies... lol, I have a total of 3, you can get them cheap out there.. other then that, you don't need or really want any of the venom electronic stuff.. you can get on the for sale section an build a whole rig real easy an cheap. I don't know why you need a scx chassis or a axial tranny but to each there own.. I personally want a creeper tranny in my scx-10 scaler, I like them far better for torque an wheel speed. Which I will be soon when Thomas puts the fusion tranny on the market..

I agree dud.. I like the look an function as well. I just didn't see what the need for it was. .for the kit as well. Ad everyone upgrades, so starting off in the direction of were ur heading, is cheapest in the long run, not just the parts or kit prices.. as with everything in this hobby.. it's all bout personal preference...
