How bad is that when you can't even fall off a ledge?

Ahh, one day into the rccrawler forums and I've already found my first smarta$$....knew it wouldn't take long

Wasn't trying to "fall off a ledge" there Ranger Rick, I was trying to maneuver under the tight overhang...notice how its scrapin' my rollbar?

And remember, it's a new bright, I spent less on it than you probably spent on your tires.

Just a warning...i wouldnt come around here with that kind of attitude. your not likely to make very many freinds.

Annnnnnnnnnnd....its still a newbright....wont ever touch a comp TLT so dont pretend ya got something there. Enter it into a comp and you'll see why we spend lots of money on HOBBYGRADE crawlers.

Exactly. Ours don't fall off small ledges.

Guys, if you don't like what's in the video DON'T post in the thread!

BigRedB2, pool-of-blood had every right to post that after Rizzo's smart *** comment.

If you cannot seem to stay out of threads where you can't post without flaming (outside of chit chat) then let me know and I will fix that problem.

Thanks.

I am by no means a "grown up". I am just a 17 year old newbie trying to get my post count up.

Fine fine. White flag raised. Lets give ya the benefit of a doubt. you did spend a lot of time working on it and granted, it is a unique crawler. Welcome to the site. Got any build pics? is the whole thing newbright parts or is it somekind of hybrind.

okay...ive done a post search on your name. i see its a variation on the stick build. It looks like the rear axle does all the "articultion". what brings it back to center?

I've seen what the stock ones will do, or not do rather. So you've improved it quite a bit. I was amuzed by the videos, so mission accomplished.

I agree....truuuuce!!!!!......I'm actually here to learn about rock crawlers....this one is my first, and I loved building it so much I'm hooked. I'm on a serious budget, and live pretty close to Toys R Us. The rest is history.

I just hacked out the guts of a new bright, and attached coupling nuts to the shock towers....from there I ran a length of threaded rod. I have the body attached to the front shock mount solid, and to the back shock mount with loose zip ties (keeps it from twisting all the way over). Other than that, I have some new motors (~250 g/cm each) and an extra gear (47-10) to slow it way down. I really need some IMEX tires, I hear their awesome

This thing really will crawl......but these gears like to pop sometimes, and I can't figure out what's goin' on in there.

Badger.......I'm hurt. They were my masterpieces!!

Maybe if I'd thrown some Korny (pun intended) music in the mix they would have been a hit? Seriously, what's up, is there a standard type of music that has to be used in all the videos?

Sorry, now I'm getting a little nasty, I must admit.

Let's ask ourselves...from watching the video, why is the toy car "falling" off the ledge? Because it rolls uncontrollably forward after letting off the reverse throttle, thats' why.........which has been remedied. The gear I added no longer allows it to roll after letting off the throttle. Actually, now, with it's low weight, low center of gravity, and stopping power, I could probably (with the help of some IMEX's) out-descend alot of you.

I'll tell you what...the closest I live to any "known" crawlin' event location is probably Green River here in Kentucky.......I'm gonna make a special trip down there with a video camera, and I'm gonna run a bunch of the courses I've seen in the videos.......If I fair well, you can bet your A$$ I'll post the vids here for all to see...if I don't, I'll still post my failure vids, tuck my tail, go buy $1000 rig (modified in my own creative way, of course) and try again......deal?

I live about 5 minutes from GR, if you decide to make the trip let me know and we'll get some of the locals to come out so we can do a proper comparison
