Not yet. We'll have to keep using this forum for now.
I don't mind waiting if it means we end up w/ a good site.

This sucks. Now I broke the records. Hmmm... now I know why I'm not a network engineer.

Anyways, I've been thinking, how tied is everyone to varcoffroaders.com? Since we mostly go by VARCOR, why don't we switch names to vacor.org or varcor.us (.com & .net is already taken)?

VARCOR.net/com/org works for me.

VARCC.net/com/org, or VARC. that would cover all forms of RC.

I'm not opposed to a name change. Domain change either.
So long as we have a kick @ss site I can waste lots of time on I'm good

As long as the site remains up 100% and/or the database is backed up. I'm not excited about entering my builds a fourth time.

Also, an article about scalers appeared in the Washington Post and Fairfax Times but despite many mentions of VARCOR by Erik, Kurtis and I, the site was down and the reporter couldn't get any material and therefore didn't make reference to VARCOR in the article. That would have been good for at least one new member.

yeah, it sucked that the site was down when the article was written.

now, the new URL is varcor.org. i'll also get varcoffroaders.com domain transferred to my account too.

If everyone is wondering about the subscription paid last year, I have used most of that budget on the new hosting site, new domain name, and now the transfer. So, the money has gone to good use. And I've decided instead of doing dues for the site, I'm just going to ask for donations when it comes time to renew anything related to the site.

Thumbs up

Ok, I need everyone's help here. I guess it's true, the 3rd time is a charm. I got the forum up and running. Even though the forum and website is still a basic setup, atleast everyone should be able to register and post.

I'm not ready to say the forum is 100% functional to tell the world, but atleast the regulars can get on and start finding the bugs.

In terms of the cosmetics, both the site and forum is not there yet.

And remember, we're starting from scratch so I don't want to hear bitching about where the old posts are... LOL

I'm also doing a 30-day grace period on registrations. Right now, I'm only doing email verification and then you can post. After May 20 or so, I will be doing administrator approval like we had before you can post.

Okay. I see a few people have signed up but haven't posted yet. This is a great. The forum is up and running. I'll be make cosmetic changes on the fly.

I have redirected varcoffroaders.com to the varcor.org home page. From the home page, there is a link to the forum.

As for the scores, I'll have them up sometime today.

I have tried signing up about 10 times and I can't get through. I have typed in the image verification and everytime it says I haven't typed it in right. I am pretty sure I did it right, and I even had someone watch.

The verifications are often case sensitive. Make sure you capitalize or use lower case to exactly copy the picture. Just a thought
