Default Comp Twin Build

Just a mock up shot to get measurements, and sorry the pics are a little blurry. But I think you can get the idea. Not sure yet if I will build a stick or a high clearance linker. Maybe both to see which I like better.

This way I will run 3 drive shafts. The one in the middle will have carrier bearings up high.

Interesting. I'm curious how it'll work.

That is very different and unique.
On to the chassis:
Do you think this might be of any use?

You just planning on the tranny on the front axle right? I've seen a TLT built like that on here somewhere. If you are planning the rear axle to have a tranny too, I've seen that on here as well, not sure what type of axle but it was a super axle, not 2.2. Looks like a good start, bulletproof axles is always a good start.

I set up a mad force axle like that- even used the same tranny, ended up ditching it because I couldn't get the mount strong enough. I think it is a great idea for a shafty though.

I hadn't seen it before but I know there is pretty much nothing new under the sun. I am trying to build a pretty strong mount so we will see how it goes. If it's not good enough I will try again. Will get more pics up this week.

Jamus- Just one tranny, hoping to keep the weight low. I have seen the TLT's with the motor mounted to the axle but not the tranny's also.

so you have one tranny and one motor on each axle , then connect the 2 with drive shafts? is there a 3rd tranny on the chassis?

No,one tranny and motor all on the front axle.. They'll be a drive shaft going to the rear axle from the out put of the tranny on the front axle

Took a little bit of digging but here is what I was talking about. Maybe not exactly what you are doing but close. Might get some ideas off it too.

Stick style, TLT build up

Not yet, Still in building process. Wish I had more time to build but hopefully it won't take too long. Gotta have it ready for a comp in mid. October. Lotsa guys in the club have really downplayed shaft driven Super comp rigs. I wanna whoop them with this.
Lets hope it's at least competitive.(along with my driving skills)

Ok, got the tranny/upper link mount done. Still gotta build the middle drive shaft which I will do as soon as I am done posting these pics. Then it will be on to the chassis and links.

And here it is with the center d-shaft installed and sitting at 17.5" wb. Seems a little tall but I could shorten the plastic shafts and get it lower. The aluminum shaft will ride down the center of the chassis. Now onto the rear upper link mount and then the chassis. That'll be another day though.

Still haven't done the rear upper link mount yet but did do the chassis and servo mounts. Front end is attached with some temp. links. Ride height and link placement will change some. Still gotta do up the carrier bearings for the center of the d-shaft and some chassis braces.

Very interesting concept. I'd like to see this completed and see how it runs. Nice work so far.
