Harley's TCS X-Trail

Wow guys! All gone already. Both production and patent issues held us up on these. We're still working on the patent paperwork, but that will no longer hold us up. The production end of it is also getting worked out and we are close. We had less issues with the fronts and I'll see if I can get more asap as a short run. Full blown proto-tester production I hope can be achieved in about 2 weeks time so we can get you guys as many of these proto-testers as you want.

Also, for those of you that have purchased the proto-testers, please give us as much feedback as possible so we can take these to full blown production asap. Thanks

I knew I should have bought the fronts last night........... Now they are out of stock too.:-(:-(:-(:-(

So is the wait 2 weeks before you will have more in stock?

I ordered my chassis yesterday. Harley obviously the battery, receiver and ESC are being relocated. Any hints?

My leafs came in today! Hopefully I can get it together and post some pics tomorrow. Thanks Harley and TCS"thumbsup"

Check out some of the build threads, 1badjeepbruiser did a really nice little tutorial on how he did his. Give that a try.

You will have to let us know what you think "thumbsup"

Would the X Trail Chassis work with the Hilux body length wise, and would the rear shock towers hit the bed? Also, would the chassis and leafs work with the High Lift axles? Thank you. "thumbsup"

Here's another question about installation...

Harley would you mind posting how yours are mounted. I tried mounting them like your CAD design and they sit way to low. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or what but if I don't fab up some hangers I don't see anyway these will work right now. Pics please of yours....

Aero, the Hilux body is a very nice fit wih the Xtrail, I believe the profile of the Xtrail is really similar to the original Bruiser / Mountaineer chassis. I know the shocktowers should be OK but I don't think the Xtrail leafs will work with the Hlift axles.

^^2x on the install pics

My opionion is that unless you want a low rider I think you got to fab mounts. This is especially true if you are only putting leafs on the front like I am for my truggy.

Hmm...well, how about using the stock High Lift shackles?
How wide is that X Trail? Thanks for the help. "thumbsup"

Considering the fact that the Xtrail dosn't come with any crossmembers or skid plates you can make it as wide or as narrow as you want.

Now, if you used the stock Hilift springs, shackles, spring hangers and axles it should all fit very nicely. You will have to play with the chassis width to make it fit the spring mounts on the axles but that is no bit deal. That would be a really sweet setup 8)

Yea, I actually wouldn't mind doing something like that. I haven't seen any builds using a full Hilux bodyset, so this would be really neat. The more I think about it, the better it looks. I do plan on using the High Lift axles, body, leafs, shackles, springs, etc. Everything except the stock chassis and 3 speed. Now I just have to sell the chassis and 3 speed....8)
