John, I just ordered one of your 7t puller motors and have a couple questions. They were probably answered but I didn't want to read 71 pages in this thread.:shock: Anyhow, this is going in my 2.2 AX10 scale K5 project. My questions are what ESC's do you reccomend? Like a list from best to ok. Also what pinion on a stock spur gear? I can't wait to get this running to try this motor out.

Hey John. I was looking at your Puller 500 motors and wondering if this would go well with the new SCX-10? Is the 500 just a scaled down version of the 540 Pullers? What kind of speed/torque could I expect from the 500 vs. my 7T Puller on 8 cells? To start out I want to make my SCX-10 a bit quicker, kinda like a racer, but still have the torque to crawl a little. Was thinking of just installing my other 7T into it and gear it up a bit more than my 2.2 and see what happens.

Lipo set up

John,

I'm looking at your new 1300 Lipo packs as well as the Thunder Power Pro Lite 1320's in both 2s and 3s to replace my current Lipo packs.

Would you recommend one over the other for this set up:

Tekin FX-R
P-94 Handwound 45T
Hi Tec 7955TG
Spektrum SR3500 micro Rx
No dig
Not running a CC BEC yet, but if it's needed I will install one
Axial guts, stock gearing

And will the balance tap on your packs work with the Astro Blinky as well?

John, I had sent money via pay-pal a while back for some .6 mod berg pinions(2). It has been over 2 months and i have not received the pinions nor my money back. I know you ran into an issue with your supplier so at this time I would like to have my money returned to me and cancel my order for the pinions. what is the process to get this handled?

Certainly i don't want to take away from JRB or HH --- Always had a good experience in the past.

But has anyone else noticed over 7 days no posted replies by JRB to inquiries in this thread?

I'm sure he's a real busy guy and i certainly can understand a pleathera of requests and inquiries flowing in and a tall order to answer them all.....

But i believe i counted no less than 50 replies to other threads on RCC by JRB since his last post in here on 2/17.

Does he maybe only handle this thread once a week and i need to go back and read-up on ground rules for this thread or something?

I'm getting afraid to consider a return of an new/unused HH product to HH as I can't find Return Policy posted on HH site and don't have an answer about it here either. Maybe I should just take the hit and sell the motors on 4sale forum here. (yes BTW I did do a search for return policy/returns, etc, nothing comes back)

Hey John I purchased your 3s lipo w/ the align plug, now can I use the multi plug that came with the Hyperion EOS 0606i AC/DC? If so please tell me which plug I use. Thanks, Mike

I have a sidewinder in my crawler. I have been using 6cell 2/3a nimh. I just got a 3cell lipo. If I set the lipo cutoff on the sidewinder can i still use the nimh cells without changing my settings. thanks.

Not a good idea really, it will cut off the 6 cell much before they are drained.

The stock pinion works well, a 14t. Any ESC that is 27t or lower compatible will work, so basically any ESC.

Most certainly. I handle returns on a one by one basis since they are very rare.

I think it would be a good motor for the SCX. It is a bit faster than the 7t puller, and has less torque. It is more comparable to a 540 motor.

The taps on my packs are align, so they should work with the astro.

I would recommend my pack over the TP pack, because it has more amp handling. The TP pack will get worn out sooner and it won't have much punch on a 45t handwound.

I am having to split my time between the forum, emails, orders, and school right now. I had a test, a presentation, and two papers this week that were my #1 priority. I got a 97% on the test, aced the presentation, and turned in the papers. Now I am caught up on emails and this thread, and have more than 70 orders to process this evening. It is time for me to hire some help while I am back in school, because I certainly know that my customer service is starting to lag. And I don't like that at all!!

other than to say congrats on the test (education is uber important these days), and your honesty nets my utmost respect (i was going to say it goes a long way in life but looking at the society we live in today its obvious that may not always be the case).

Nonetheless, your candid response represents 99% of what i personally think is HIGHLY valuable in any vendor when i decide who to buy from. i imagine others may feel the same.

Hey JRH, I got lipo question for you. I'm running dual handwound 35Ts and a JR 8711 servo. I wondering if a 20c 3s is enough ? I'm sure if I overload the lipo it will damage it. Would a 25C 3s be able to handle the load ?

John I'm runnning a mini torque master in my Losi MRC! I love the grunt of this motor even with a 14t pinion and running 4.25" flat irons. I was looking for something that can give me more wheel speed! Do you think a cobalt puller 500 would one fit, two give me the wheel speed ?

The motor is already very fast. You could add a bit of advanced timing, pinion up a bit, or add more voltage. You would need a motor above 5000kv to be faster. In comparison the cobalt 500 is about 2200kv if I remember correctly.

I generally use 3s in all my rigs, unless it is 1.9 comp rules.

I bought the p-94 45t and a sidewinder from you and am considering my battery options for the losi 2.2 I ordered. I would like to go with your 3s 2200 for a primary batt. and possibly a couple of 3s 1300's for extras. Can I do this or will the programming in the sidewinder have to be changed every time? Sorry if this is a dumb question as you can see I am new to all of this, but don't think the newbie section was going to give me the answer I need. Good job on the test. O' yea, where are you located (state)? Thanks.

If you set up the sidewinder for auto lipo ( my choice if you have me program it for lipo) you will have no worries.
