Kaetwo's Tekin FX-R Review...

Thanks Randy, I received the e-mail.......

:?: But, How do I change the .txt file to a .zip file :?:

I know how a computer works, But don't know how to work the computer !

come on people , help a brother out ! :ror:

After you download the file, right click on it and select rename. The change the name from XXXXX.txt to XXXXX.zip

If you do not see file extentions, you will need to show them in your file options menu. This varies from OS to OS but what you'll need to look for is "Hide extensions for known file types". Once that's properly setup you can change the file extension.

If you are running Vista, this is how its done.

Click start, go to your control panel. In the top right, search for Folder options. Click on the folder options and it will open a box. When you open it, Click the "view" tab. Now scroll down till you see "Hide Extensions for known file types". Then click the "Apply". "thumbsup"

I cant remember where it is on XP..........

Downloaded the update to the esc and it made a big difference in the low speed start-up."thumbsup"

Thanks Tekin:)

Got to love Vista and it's "security" features! LOL. If you press the alt key while in windows it also drops down other options and tabs to click on so you can change your ability to view files as well.

Thanks for helping out guys.

Glad to see the feedback we're getting so far is the same as our teams.

I keep hearing about issues with these ESC's on 3S and the steering servo not working properly. I hooked up a new 3S and a Hitec HS5955TG and it works perfect, no complaints. I wonder if it has something to do with the Tx. Im using a stock HPI WK one.

I had issues in the Texas summer heat until I installed a Castle BEC. ESC has been working great for over a year now.

I emailed for the update on the 24th but haven't seen anything. You may just be backlogged but perhaps it got lost in the system?

Can you please send the update to me at:
lockedup@txrcrca.com

thanks

do the new (if i purchased one) tekin fxr's come with the upgraded software or would I have to buy the hotwire to upgrade it right after buying it? Also, If I am going to run 3s lipo, do I need a BEC or will the internal one hold up as long as I dont run more than one servo?

Thanks!

Since the update just came out, I would think that its not on the new ones yet. Just about everything you buy now has to have the software updated as soon as you plug it in."thumbsup"

I was double checking everything on my rig today as far as settings. I noticed that my DX3R was only set at 125%. It will go to 150%. I know that once the motors stop speeding up, thats it. I usually turn it up until it stops speeding up, then back it down just a little. I noticed that when I did this, the lights would flash at full throttle. My question is that are the lights supposed to be full on, or flash at full throttle? Just wondering if I need to back it down a hair more.

ok here goes im going to see how long my fxr pro will last with a pair of 27 hooked up to it with a 3s pack in my berg and stock gearing , let me tell you this thing is smoking fast , it has good throttle feel , jumps up rocks i had a prob climbing before ive had it in for 3 days no prob yet

does the low end problem have a shuddring throttle feel.. just kind of not smooth? I didn't feel this until I went 3S and tuned down the voltage hit with tuning buttons on the ESC. Its almost like the 45T motors are chugging.

Very annoying.
