Updates on my SCX10.........

wow all i can say right now is wow

Thanks. 8)

wow bender....this is some very nice work!!! you used some impressive creativity and made one bad@ss all purpose truck. (love the cd holder inner fender idea...I'll be using that one for sure) this truck is just all around awesome! if I changed ANYTHING it would be to find a body that covers the tires a bit more and that's all. but even as it is it's superb :) and it has a simple yet eye catching, realistic looking paint job. great job bender.

Thanks KC. I agree on the body covering the tires more too, they stick out a bit far. "thumbsup"

What a great build this has been.

The wheelwell idea is excellent. The ability to "see" a part hiding in something totally ordinary and mundane, and then cut it out and fabricate it is a good thing indeed.

All the planning I've done for my SCX-10 build about making it water-resistant and easy to clean up after and whatnot, and I did'nt even think about making some wheelwells. They would obviously help keep a good percentage of the debris out of the chassis while driving.

With all the other detail going on, that body is just asking for some exhaust pipes made out of stainless tubing (I make them for all my drift bodies, they are a nice scale detail that takes about 10-15 minutes to fabricate) They are in a spot where they'd be prone to recieving some abuse though. Maybe if they only stuck out like an 1/8th inch or so?

Thanks. Yup, some exhaust tips would be cool. I'll be installing something like that on my next SCX10 build I do for sure. 8)

I never could get into scale builds that used a lexan body..............until now!!! It looks perfect. Some very excellently executed ideas on this build I can't get enough of those wheel wells. Great pics/action shots too! Some of those shots would look sick blown up to about 3'x4' and printed on removable wall vinyl"thumbsup";-)

Got sand? ;-)

Production model?

I just stumbled on this thread from the Axial website while looking for my next project. Since you work for Axial, have they expressed any interest in making this a kit? To me this is way cooler than the CORE trucks that are coming out. Plus to me it seems to be a very versatile truck based on your video. Thank you for posting this! Your bosses should be too as it looks like I have found my first Axial truck to purchase because of your build thread. "thumbsup"

PS enjoy the angry call from my wife for me buying another RC truck, ha ha ha j/k

What "Kit" are you referring to? The SCX-10 has been out for many months already and benders truck is an SCX-10 with Axial bolt ons and some stuff from other companys.

WOW, that looks great. My wife just offered to buy me one form finishing my degree. Apart from the body and motor/esc described, did you have to upgrade the shocks?

I guess it has driveshaft rings to stop them coming off?
Are the axles looked or are they diff? Just wondered as saw the part number needed are listed in the thread.

I've got an AX10 and love it, but a scale truck would be nice. I was leaning towards a tamiya truck, but this is great!!!! Very inspirational,

Thank you for sharing it with us.

Yes I know that the kit has been out for many months. I don't usually post but I have been reading this site for about 2 years. I was specifically talking about Axial releasing the desert truck with the features on it that Bender built. IE faster motor, front bumper, mount for spare tires, and maybe some tweaking to the suspension for the higher speed. I thought Bender had a good idea and a nice alternative to the CORE trucks that are out.

I was also inspired with this build, I bought the same body and chose to color it red too. I may not be able to copy it "as is", but at least something a little bit close to how it will look like.

I was thinking of getting a sidewinder or another mamba max, and that motor for fun. What sort ot run time should I expect, I can get lipos or Nimah batts. Thanks. Been looking at local hobby shops ove rhere to see who has what, might have to order from lots of shops.
