BMT's Sportsman Creeper

Ive heard people at our comps talking and I think a 2.2 Unlimited class would be sick,,,,build it whatever way you want within size/wheelbase restrictions and run what ya brung. Im thinkin a Creeper with front dig, rear cutting brakes and rear steer on 3S,,,,,,,,,MMMMMMMMM! CARNAGE

Up until the end of the year, when rear steer will be getting the boot (and falling completely into line with the USRCCA rules) our 2.2 Pro class is pretty much that, a 12.5" mini Super.

I did more to the electronics tonight. I'm notoriously sucky at getting my electronics tidy :lmao: It's my chassis set up failing every time. My Creeper now looks like a spaghetti factory just pooped all over it and I haven't finished yet...

Much more purposeful.

I got real curious to see what these Creepers were all about, so I did the obvious thing and got one :ror:

I had this big idea of seeing what an out of the box (but with wheel weights and shock tuning) Creeper would do.

I really like this approach, and I'm doing the same. Not really sure why, but I just want to see what it can do right out of the box...I'm just venting the wheels and adding some weight. I'm sure that will just be the start of the modifications, but I want some sort of reference.

Juan,,you will definitely want to lock the lockers too bro.

(I believe) Out of the box a Creeper would spank a bog stock AX10, but if you do what I did and turn up to comp on kit tyres you may be disappointed.

I've been reading Thomas...I have a long list of things I want to change, but I really want it stock to start.

Yeah I'm not too impressed with the tires just from holding them...Once the budget opens up I plan to grab a new set of Rovers and Nova foams, but not until I get some run time on these. I'm not too excited about these wheels either, so I'll either machine a set or PM Reflection for a set.

Of the "included in kit" plastic beadlocks out there, I was impressed with the Creeper rims.
I however have a major distrust with plastic crawler rims and have slipped those Hot Racing wheels on to make do until my DNA Thrashers arrive (which may fit with 3/4" extenders).

Currently, with those HR rims it's 11" wide :ror:

I'll keep the kit tyres for my 1/6th Jeep build. They make a kind of faux Baja Claw look-a-like.

A box o' DNA Thrashers arrived to day. With the help of some 3/4" wideners, perfect fit with an overall width of 10 3/8" including tire bulge.

Thanks.

If you follow the drilling template in the instructions, the body ends up way to high and far froward... for me, anyway. Hence the Proline sticker covering the original holes ;-)

OK so they're 3Racing CR01 bent links where can I get some at? on the cheap. and thanks for pointing that out musta missed it

It was a 1200kv/35A jobbie.

I found it got a good case of the coggings going on at low throttle input. To be expected with a sensor-less in-runner. The brushed motor just gives a smoother bottom end. Although, it might change again. The 45 on 3S is a rocket  Might slip in a 65 if I get trigger happy next comp. If I has wheel speed, I will use it.

I agree, brushed motors are the bee's knees on the low end... You should try a low kV heli outrunner motor, and crank the ESC's advance to the max setting with medium punch and low expo... Works in my micro, so i'm gonna try it on my Creeper...

My ideal setup would be a HH 10T Cobalt puller on 3S lipo... Creeper would probably do wheelies !!
