Well in June of 2010 I sold most every last thing I owned that was RC related and started playing with 1:1 crawlers again. I now have my 1:1 for the most part finished so it is time to build me a scale rig to have a little fun with while on the trail or doing a RC trail ride. I have never really been a Ford fan although I do like the Early Broncos and the 78' to 79' F250 and F350 that came from the factory with the Snow Fighter package. Those trucks are just sweet! The one EB known around the off road world is this sick work of art which I have always liked and even like the Fat City Bronco as well. John Reynold's can build some sick stuff that is for sure. Check out this master piece. But the inspiration for this build came from this EB by Twisted Customs.

And while this is a tamer build then most cars especially Ultra4 cars I do like the K.I.S.S method that went into the build up. The car may not pass tech for Ultra4 but I bet is would not take much. I am shooting for a clean low slung rig that crawls and hauls all in one neat and nice package. I know my build will not be as nice as the King of ALL Broncos, I am shooting for a close 2nd. ;-)

I have been collecting parts for a few months trying to come up with a good combination of solid parts and search for them trying to get stuff cheap as possible since my money is tight these days. I have the idea of a Ultra4 style race car with a trailing are rear for more wheel travel and a sweet looks. I have came up with two sources of trailing arms, one is from RC4wd and the other is from the HPI Mini trophy truck. I am not 100% sure on which one I will use at this time.

The parts I have been collection over the last few month have been the following :

Axial Wraith axles from the kit
Axial Sticky RipSaws
Dynamic Concepts Early Bronco body
The Scale Shop Early Bronco body aluminum grill
SCX-10 chassis

I still need a lot of stuff but I am trying to build this truck without throwing a lot of $$$$$$$ at it. I pretty sure I know what all parts I want to use on this truck I just need to get my hands on them.

I am going to use a Axial transmission and a transfer case from GCM unless I can find something cheaper and stronger. The motor and speed control to power this rig will come from Holmes Hobbies. John is the only guy I trust when it comes to electric motors. His motors are a notch above everything else period!

This rig is also going to have a theme to it that has touched most everyone's life at one time or another.

That Bronco is so fresh and so clean, should be a great build...

That is the coolest classic bronco I have ever seen.. And, I haven't exactly been walking around with my eyes closed.

Bravo"thumbsup"

This is gunna be good!! "thumbsup"

Lovin the K.I.S.S. theory, just enough to make it work, and work well.

Thanks *s !

I picked up the transfer case from GCM and I picked up a Wraith transmission as well. R2j is going to do the metal work so you know it will be NASTY! In a good way. ;-)

Well Dynamic Concepts has threw a major freakin' monkey wrench in my plans.:ror:

I had been all pumped about building a Ferd Bronkho but after seeing this and being a die hard GM guy The Ferd has got to GO! :ror:

I sure wished they would use this grill or maybe Cory at TSS can do his magic!

I also got it touch with this * and he is going to work his magic on the trailing arms. So everything is on the up and up only if I can get someone to swap me a tranny for a tranny. :lmao:

Sorry if this seems like a Harley thread! :ror:

I am mounting the K5 Blazer mold assembly to a mold plate tonight, and pulling a few test fitment bodies.

Once that is done, we will be making a few accessory pieces, such as the short and tall cowl hoods, along with the Jimmy grill insert.

I will try to post up a pic or two of the mold assembly later tonight in the K5 thread.

Looking forward to your build Chip, the Dynamic Concepts K5 Blazer would be my choice nothing against the Bronco.

Most def!

Well I am going to ditch the GCM transfer case and go with the Big D set up from DinkyLinker. Matt did an AWESOME job on this transfer case and it goes right along with my K.I.S.S. plan the case it nice a tight and small which are all major pluses in my book. I borrowed the pictures from Matt's thread but here they are and thanks for looking as soon as I can get my hand on a K5 body from DC I will post some mock up shots.
