Beers

All empty.

Reminds me of college days. And current days too, most of my kitchen cabinets are full of empty bottles of beer and liquor. I have no idea why. I thought it might help me remember what I've already had, but who looks at empty bottles in a closed kitchen cabinet? Not me.
It is still as tall 5 mins later, I have yet to take a sip

Rub your finger on your greasy nose and then swirl it in the foam. Old college keg party trick.

College themed post that was.

Dundee sampler pack, made by the Genesee gang I guess, according to Randy, my step sister's boyfriend who brought over the 12 pack.

This is the Pale Ale, which is delightfully hoppy and crispy. Pretty sure my tastebuds are destroyed from all the Jim Beam and copious amounts of gravy yesterday, but it's not bad, I think. I would buy this depending how much it costs. I could see it being cheap, cause it tastes cheap. Right now. With my destroyed mouth...

What I did come home with: all still warm, wishing they would cool faster.

I need to find that small batch 471 stuff, I feel interested.

I had this one earlier also, another Dundee. Meh.

It is delicious. It is a 9% DIPA. If you have had DFH 90 Minute it is similar, but with more character "thumbsup"

Right now I think it is my favorite beer. Very drinkable despite the higher abv.

For some reason just now I remember seeing those glasses along with a bottle of Duvel as a gift pack. Might have to scoop that up, I liked the Duvel when I tried a little while ago.

Just threw some yeast in this puppy. A gruit about 75% 2row domestic and 25% crystal 140L. Threw some lacto and other critters in a week ago and boiled em dead today. Cooled and pitched the some English ale yeast to hopefully bring out some of the rich flavors in from the crystal malt.

Bittered with some standard gruit stuffs like mugwort, heather, and yarrow. The beer will mostly be flavored with the heather - which is lemony and tart and along with the earthy mugwort should hopefully bridge the gap between the sour and the caramel/toffee.

Only time will tell!

On the front, Hoppy on the finish. Great citrus smells and flavors. It has that multi level complexity that the tripels have. Not the same type, but along the same idea of waves of flavor.

Popped this one! Great Christmas spices!

Not sure if I like it. It is VERY woody in flavor. I like oak as subtle flavor, not sure I like in your face wood beer.
