I am thinking about hosting a RECON style event somewhere in the Charleston Area in the coming months. I need to find a good spot and get some materials ready. Who all would be interested in something like that? What i'm thinking is 100 or so gates, timed event, scale trucks, blah blah.

I'm down for it as long as everything goes ok with my hip on Tuesday. If I have to have it replaced, I'll be down for a few months.

if I could get a truck up and running. I've got three projects started and only one of them (foff) is close to being done.

Anyone have any ideas - I bought 2 turnigy batteries that came with high current wires that won't work with traxxas connectors. My option is to cut the traxxas off the esc and go with the ones I picked up in teays valley but I really don't want to cut off the esc connector...

ok - I just read the rules for the recon events...I don't have a winch or scale accessories and really don't plan on worrying about any of that (at least not at this point). Probably won't participate in a recon event.

I don't think anyone is going to complain if you don't have a winch or scale accessories.

I have a couple questions, can I run custom 2.2 Swampers that have been cut and shut to fit on 1.9 wheels? And do you usually have to go through much water in these competitions?

I'd say no on the tires - don't know about the water.

From the RECON website:

1.9 or 1.55 wheels and tires ONLY! Tire may be name brand or knock offs, just as long as they resemble the real thing.

lol - some water is fine, I'm just not one to submerge my whole rig
