2 day Trail event for scalers in Marseilles, IL

my biggest concern is getting bored. 2 days is quite a bit of time to be hanging out in a offroad park.

That was why I was thinking of a real campground away form the park. Most have pools and between beer bonfires and a pool, we could keep busy.

I am really looking forward to a night run.

and also... you guys that are definitely camping should probably talk to somebody down there about reserving some spots so when you show up saturday there isnt a bunch of trailers where you want to set up.

i dunno how much trey or chris described it, but its not glamourous at all in terms of a campground.

True, and there are camp grounds close. It doesn't matter to me. I kind of enjoyed the parking area though, there are some BAD ASS rig to look at.

I wouldn't worry too much about people getting bored. Maybe I'm easily amused but we don't have to be doing something all the time. We can just sit around and goof off, BS about stuff. I hunt a lot in Texas and in the middle of the day when you're not hunting, that's what you do. You sit around and play cards and smoke cigars and shoot the shit. (This is where Rick chimes in about steers and queers in Texas)

Coronas and some good Churchills, hmmmmmm.

Haha nah.. I'll let it slide.. THIS TIME!

But yea, we're all adults.. We can either just deal with the boredom or entertain ourselves in some way or another. As long as we can find a decent place to setup camp, I'm good. Otherwise I'll have to sleep in the 4runner. :ror:

Again, I don't know how much they'll let us drink beer in the middle of the day. They confiscate beer from people usually. They just told me if it's late in the day, we're done on their trails and we "keep it on the DL" it will be okay.

Yup.

Trey, Zero... the camping area near the parking lot, is it right next to the lot? That might suck somewhat if there are trucks driving right next to the camp area all day. If it's somewhat secluded I think it could be ok.
What do you guys think?
I'm really wanting to sit around Texan style and enjoy sitting outside with a fire... can we do that in this spot?

Here is a photo taken from the camp spot back toward the office. Couldn't find a better one.

We'll be able to sit around all we want but it's not a real camp ground. If that's what you want, we should look at one of the state parks. Again, doesn't matter to me, we just need to make a decision because those will need to be reserved.

I'd prefer to stay there, next to the trails. But I do think in regards to a campsite, we need at least 40' of grass between us and the lot. Otherwise, everything will just be covered in dust... food, drink, us.
What do you think?

I wanna check out some of the 1:1 comp.
I was also thinking about the NIRC comp.
Maybe we run all morning, charge the lipo's and then run some gates on the better terrain we find.
I think a little non season mini comp could keep the day going. Maybe we do the honor system and cannibal run style it
