You guys had Paul and I nervous at the end! Your times were dropping fast :ror:

I can't wait for the next run, already counting down the days! STL G6 in July is going to be a blast as well.

Re: Hit & Run Wraith - Ultimate G6 Machine

Hallo Harley congrat for the comp! just wanted to ask for your comments about the Pitbulls with CI Double Deuce foams....
I am planning on getting myself a set of Pitbulls like yours + CI foams and would like to be sure about what foams (size and hardness) I must order....

my rig weights approx 9 lb and wheel width is 1 inch

thanks a lot for your kind reply!

I was extremely pleased with the foams! I was running the prototype comp cut foams from Crawler Innovations. They are 6" tall, outers are firm rear and medium front. These will be for sale this week. The new width and new shape fit a narrow wheel and completely fill the tire. No sidewall gap, they track better, side hill better, and are a much closer tuned comp foam right out of the bag. Mine were a hand shaped version but the final pieces were finished yesterday. Watch Eddie's site for them.

Thats a bloody nice rig mate, I wish I had your budget, "thumbsup" My rig is coming along slowly, but it is coming along.

There about 20 total teams signed up for 1.9 and 2.2. The same course was run by both classes.

The course was amazing, really pushing the trucks to set a good time was causing a lot of breakage and DNF's. DMG got wrapped up in a course marker flag and hit the throttle on his Pro4 HD and destroyed an Axial universal with a quickness!

If parts ain't flyin you ain't trying
Congrats on the win Harley n Paul

I never posted pictures of the electronics after it was finished. I want to shorten the wiring and do a little reorganization now that I have more time.

I may try and build a tray that allows for lower battery mounting. There is a lot of unused room down there.

One other thing that really worked out well was my modified VP knuckle weights.

Also running the lower half of a quarter inch ring on them. Painted black for stealth reasons, and the brake rotor hides them on the wheel side very well.

How did you waterproof you motor? Are you running the pro4 3300kv? Have a pro4 and looking to waterproof it. Right now I waiting on a 5x14x5 sealed bearing to help get some of the gunk out. Thanks for the help and your amazing attention to deital."thumbsup"

The first page has all my specs, I am using a Tekin ROC 412 motor this time instead of the Pro4 I have been using. I really like this motor, it is very close to the same as a Pro4.

I disassembled the motor and dipped the boards with Corrosion X. I left them out over night and then reassembled.

I shot video on this process but have not finished editing it together yet. I misspoke during it and that is bugging me. So I am not 100% sure how I am going to finish it up.

You need to stop messing around.

Your ultimate G6 machine is missing a key ingredient.

Ahhh the IFS vs SA debate :-) We are catching up to PBB pretty quickly!

Right now, I think I'm staying with the dependability. I really thought about the IFS, I love the styling, but the front shaft questions just kept popping in my head. Plus after driving my Twin Hammers I was just a little underwhelmed with the performance. Granted I don't think the benchmark is all that great.

I think as far as the speeds that are realistic for me though (being able to run behind it) I wouldn't see enough Pros to out weigh the Cons. If I was doing more of the Terra X where I could stand in one spot I think it would be an easier call.

Catching up?

You've been under a rock, haven't you?

The Twin Hammers is nothing like these rigs. You might as well be trying to base the performance of these things against the CC01. "I was underwhelmed with the IFS on CC01 so I decided not to put IFS on my Wraith"

These things dominate a Terra-X. I just wish VP would get the Exo VVDs on the market already. I ripped through ~600 gates in the G6 and ran two heats in the Terra-X before breaking a wheel axle in the main after two repeated bad landings.

Based on the amount of abuse I gave this thing in such a short amount of time, I'm not worried about front shafts too much, but I would like to go to VP units.

I think sticking with the solid axle is cool. Don't go mainstream. Keep it original and build it the way you want to

I'm well aware they've been being built for a long time. I'm just talking about the amount of IFS vs SA discussions that go round and round.

I just still don't see the big G6 advantage when we are looking at a medium run/jog speed (especially @ my crippled speed). The Terra X is where I see them killing it in comparison.

I don't know that the Exo VVD's will ever hit the market, but I'd like to see the option come around as well. For now, I have put the idea of the IFS to the side. This setup worked too well on all the areas where it needed to to think about needing a change along those lines.
