Hit & Run Wraith - Ultimate G6 Machine

CYMERA_20130531_003714.jpg

Last night was crazy busy but still not productive enough.

I started off by tearing into the electronics and coating everything with Corrosion X. That is still hanging up to dry right now.

Then I started in on the tires and wheels. The foams from CI felt great as always, but I can't say I know exactly what the new tech is. Nice firm inner should be great for the speed of this rig. Medium outers up front and firms in the rear. The Pitbulls are filled up nice and I'm looking forward to hitting the course with them.

Then I installed the new skinz from FreqEskinZ on the rig. They turned out great install was simple. They stepped up the look of the plain panels quite a bit!

Tonight, it's going to be a late one for sure. Install all the electronics, finish the interior, build a front battery plate as low as possible, and tune the suspension. FUN!

I'm glad you can't see what's different. That's a good thing. There is some differences though and I am eager to hear how the foams perform out of the package. The foams should be very close for your weight and tire. Good luck this weekend Harley"thumbsup"

Corrosion X FTW!!! I love this stuff. My FOFF videos show the wonder of this product every time out:mrgreen:.

Well hopefully I can get a feel for them this weekend. It's been raining like crazy here so it's going to be sloppy is my guess. Always hard to tell how everything is working when it's so slick!

This is my first time with Corrosion X, looking forward to positive results.

Do you just spray the corrosion x on your electronics and put them back in? Do you have to repeat spraying them, or is it a one-time deal?

So It's a permanent type of waterproofing, kinda like plasti-dip? I like how you did your panels! The wraps look good on them!

Is it permanent waterproof solution like plastic dip? I would like to know that as well. Thanks Harley!

My understanding is that it's kinda semi-permanent. It does wear off, at what rate, I do not know. I would say if you are going to frequently submarine your rig, reapply it every 5-10 runs. A buddy of mine is using it in a few of his rigs with good results so far. I purchased some of the Aviation Blend, it's a little thinner than the original blend, I'm gun shy to bite the bullet and dip the electronics in my Wraith yet. I'm thinking about either going the conformal coating route or full on epoxy potting, I'm thinking that's a little more permanent.

Can the seat belts on those seats be bought?? I would love to have a couple sets in black or red

I've been trying to decide which of these three I am going to use. I think I'm going to use the conformal coating and here is why.

Corrosionx - The boat guys seem to gave good luck with it. Down side is that you don't know if It's still working and it never dries so It's forever messy.

Potting - Definitely water proof but good luck ever soldering wires to the board again.

Conformal coating - Definitely water proof and when you want to solder new wires on to the board you can use a coating remover pen first.
