I think they need to get their marketing/product planning house in order.
In a way, they are at the mercy of some production/quality issues with suppliers from China. While some may see that I am speculating here, it is based on what other manufacturers have announced and have subsequently delayed their release, and it is a heck of a lot more educated than some of the ideas thrown around here.
Case 1, ECX with their whole line of 4WD vehicles. It was only supposed to be 30 days out before the full line of 4WD were supposed to be delayed, finally, they have their 4WD SCT out, but at least a full month delayed.
Case 2, ARRMA with their 1/8th scale truggy/buggy. Still no news as to when it will come out; Tower has gone from June, now to Mid July.
Shoot, even the clone makers/sellers are running out of stock. (Exceed, Redcat, HSP, Himoto, etc)
So what does this have to do with Axial marketing and product planning? I think that no one has a freaking clue as to when they can get product out on the shelves, and the marketing department really can't go through the proper channels to build up enough demand for the new product. At the same time, they (Axial) feel that they can't pump up the older platform (SCX10) CR Edition, Deadbolt, too much for fear of advance pull-through (people spending their money now on the older kits), which would result in a less than ideal sales for their new product release. Didn't it seem like those kits (bodies and stickers to be honest) just came out of nowhere?
