2016 Scale Rules

How do you calculate body and bed points for a truck like this?
"Mouse" - Page 6
I guess only -4 points for abs cab (even if it's extended)?
Is the rear considered as a flatbed, so -3 (it has a metal fame under the wood bed) and -2 for metal rollbar in the bed?
I will put inner fenders in the front, but what if i close the gap between the bed and the frame rails in the rar with a flat black plastic panel? no inner fender points for it?

How do you score a truck body like this?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ygdVz_Qgb-w
full rigid body, or hard body cab + flatbed?
what if the bed has side rails + tailgate?

I'd like to ask you also your point of view about a particular italian technical issue: we have some drivers running on their most extreme trucks a system for variable ride height in the front.
It uses a servo winch connected to the front axle with a cable, so you can use for compressing front suspension and keep your front end down on steep climbs minimizing the risk of a rollover.
Something you could do by connecting you winch to the front axle on a 1/1 rig.
is it sorrca legal to use it during the course to adapt your truck height to the obstacles? in which classes is it allowed?

thank you so much :)

Not sure you could do inner fenders when there aren't any fenders.

I don't have time to watch a video right now, I'll get back to you on that.

The winch down is legal in any class, and can be done in real life with any stock vehicle. As long as you're just winching it down and aren't touching the hook, there isn't a penalty

Scx10 II has a transfer case directly attached to the tranny. Is SORCCA going to allow it to have transfer case points givin???

If that's the case I want to be "that guy" that then considers my "original" scx10 set up. the spur and pinion are my transmission and then the top shaft carries the power the my attached transfer case and then out to the driveshafts.

Nice try but NO!!!!!!!!

Just curious what the reasoning for not allowing split rims? 2.2/3"
Looking at narrowing some madforce axles and notice i would need those.

Thanks

Nick

I have a Class 3 body question: The rules state "Body must be at least as long as the wheelbase of the vehicle." I thought I had seen several pictures of truggies running in Class 3, so is the tube work included in the measurement like it is for height? I'm thinking about making some changes to this rig in order to run the class, so would I need to figure out a way to do some kind of bedsides to be legal? Thanks.

99% of newer vehicles and most older vehicles are setup like that. I can only think of a handful of older vehicles that had a divorced tcase. Would the points count for the super scale motor, trams, and tcase that rc4wd makes?

Because they aren't scale looking and 2.2 wheels are the largest size allowed. Sorry.

In Class 3 it does include the tube work and chassis.

You would get 3D engine points as well as t-case points for that RC4WD setup.

I would need a clarification, this roof rack that was built to reproduce an existing version:

In counting scaler points is valid as metal roof rack?

It's not on the roof, so I would not award it points. Having a roof rack, on the roof, is a pretty big disadvantage. It hangs upon everything and the weight of it couldn't be in a worse place, having something in the bed minimizes both of those. So while it is a way better choice for wheeling, it is for those reasons why I wouldn't give it roof rack points. I could be persuaded to give it a scale point though.
The 1:1 pictured has a bed rack, not a roof rack.

Thanks Big Daddy "thumbsup"

Many times it happens that if a translation from English into Italian some important details are misunderstood, this is the reason why frequently we ask clarifications ;-)

What is the ruling on removing doors from a C1 vehicle?

Doesn't the 1:1 Jeep have removable doors? The Land Cruiser the rc4wd one is supposed to be had removable doors. As did the older Land Rovers.

A few years back there was some discussion but can't remember how it went. Tried to search but couldn't find it.

I think we decided that as long as you have a full interior, the 1:1 has easily removable doors and it was done in a clean way, it's fine. I see people driving around town without doors all the time.
