BowHouse RC Forward Mount Tranmission Cradle

i've read the whole thread, but can't find any mention of the reason for doing the tranny flip. It seems that the weight bias remains the same. Is it to equalise the drive shaft lengths and therefore reduce strain on drive train?

Exactly what svt said. Weight bias shifts forward a bit (how much depends on what battery pack you run), you get more room for an interior, and you completely hide the tranny/motor assembly if you want to use a cab back/truggy or flatbed. If you look at my first SCX10 II thread and then Roo's SCX10 II thread (which uses the Vaterra K10 truggy body), we discuss reasons and benefits in more detail. "thumbsup"

That box is completely waterproof. We did extensive testing to perfect those seals. Did you test it or just prefer the traxxas box?

A little follow-up on the receiver box, just FYI. We were moving some things around this weekend in Roo's 10.2 to make room for a full-depth interior, which means relocating the receiver box. When Roo opened the stock box to take out the receiver, here's what we saw:

The setup and usage are pretty typical. There are only three servo leads coming out of the receiver (steering servo, ESC and winch controller), and this truck hasn't been submarined (it's been through plenty of puddles, of course). The water infiltration wasn't a problem for us since we had treated the receiver with conformal coating, but it does suggest that calling the receiver splash resistant or water resistant might be a bit safer than calling it waterproof. Pretty much as long as the motor will bolt up to the SCXII transmission, it will work. There is a ton of space for longer motors, a Pro4HD fits easily into my truck.
I'm just curious because I have a tekin t35 and I did the swap and it runs reverse..
